I placed a to-go order for honey garlic wings at 1:49 PM on Sunday, July 13th, and picked them up at 2:10 PM. I then drove about 15 minutes to my sister’s house. When I opened the container, I was surprised by how dry the wings looked—there wasn’t a single piece of garlic on them either. They didn’t look or taste like the standard I’ve come to expect from bb.q Chicken.
I’ve visited multiple locations in California and Las Vegas, so I’m very familiar with how these wings are usually prepared. These didn’t meet that standard at all. Since I was already 15 minutes away, I didn’t want to drive all the way back, but once I tasted them, I couldn’t finish them, they didn’t taste right.
I called the restaurant and spoke with, I believe his name is Rein. He was very polite and offered extra sauce to help with the dryness, which I initially agreed to. However, my sister pointed out that the wings would be cold by the time I got back—about 45 minutes after we originally ordered, which was a valid point.
So I called Rein again and asked if the wings could be remade, explaining that they would be cold once we finally got to eat them. He said he personally checked the order and that they couldn’t remake it because it would be a loss for the restaurant. I explained I wasn’t trying to keep the original wings—I wanted to return them so they could see the issue firsthand. He said he’d check with the manager, but ultimately told me they still couldn’t remake the order, only offer a refund or extra sauce. I don’t understand why he would say it’s a loss for the restaurant, because of course it is. You guys are the one to mess them up, so it’s your job to fix it, why would your paying customer have to be the one to take the loss?
I went back to the restaurant anyway, hoping they’d see the wings in person and recognize the issue. I asked to speak with the manager, but Rein was still the one assisting me. Again, he was very sweet and respectful, but he shouldn’t have been handling this situation. I could be wrong, but it seemed like the manager was in the kitchen avoiding the situation, which felt unprofessional.
Rein insisted the wings were “properly sauced” and explained that because it was a to-go order, the sauce had been absorbed. He also said they don’t sauce them too heavily because some customers prefer that. I respectfully disagreed—having ordered to-go from bb.q Chicken many times before, I’ve never received wings this dry, and there was still no explanation for the complete absence of garlic on what’s supposed to be honey garlic wings.
Even if we forget how they looked, I clearly told your employee that the wings didn’t taste good. That alone should have been the cue to make things right. Instead, I was met with resistance and excuses. I finally just asked for the refund, he asked if I wanted to order more, but why would I order more when you’re telling me this is what your normal is, and I’d be getting the exact same wings?
I ended up going to another location—Spring Mountain which is 20 minutes away—and I sincerely wish I had taken a photo of the wings I got there. The difference was significant and exactly what I’m used to from bb.q Chicken.
I can’t express how upsetting it was to spend over an hour and a half just trying to get an order of wings that should’ve been made right from the beginning. I don’t think I was being difficult—I simply wanted a reasonable resolution for food that didn’t meet your usual standards, and I didn’t...
Read moreWas really craving wings, and since I'm new to Vegas, I'm attempting to try out a new restaurant each time we go out to eat. Considering there are soooo many. I found this place on Google and decided to check it out. First, the service wasn't bad at all. The prices on the food (my fault for not verifying beforehand) are extreeeemely overpriced. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the menu. I ordered two orders of 8 wings (you can't mix flavors in each order, huge down side, another way for them to make even more money), some mozzarella sticks and some dumplings. Everything was good, but still not worth these prices. The wings ARE huge though, so I guess it's almost like 2 wings in one. Overall a good experience, but can't imagine spending another $70 on that order. Probably won't be back for that reason, but...
Read moreI wanted to try their chicken wings but I asked for original, I was told I couldn’t get original but only spicy wings. I could get original in the 1/2 or whole chicken so I ordered the 1/2 chicken. I live in the mountains 45 minutes away, go home and I bite into one, it’s spicy. Try another, spicy, another bite into another, spicy. Unfortunately, I can’t eat spicy food. I call them. The woman who picked up the phone was rude and argued with me that they gave me original, not spicy and if I wanted to exchange, I had to go back this evening. I wasn’t going to drive another 45 minutes to exchange chicken they made an error on. I would go tomorrow, they refused. As soon as my card processes the payment, I’m disputing the expensive mediocre chicken that I can’t eat and I could’ve gotten for a third of the...
