The Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on Silverado Ranch has been a go-to spot for many over the years, offering a specific style of burger and their signature frozen custard. However, it seems that for some, the experience has shifted, and the quality that once made it a favorite is no longer as consistent as it once was.
A few years ago, the burgers were the star of the show. The thin, crispy-edged steakburger patties, with their distinctive "lacy" texture, were always cooked to perfection. You could count on a juicy, flavorful burger that was a step above the typical fast-food fare. The shoestring fries were another highlightâperfectly crispy and seasoned, especially when paired with their famous fry sauce. The frozen custard was rich and creamy, and the "concretes" were a decadent treat. The quality of ingredients and the attention to detail in the preparation seemed to be a hallmark of the restaurant.
Unfortunately, it appears that this standard of quality has become harder to find. Recent visits suggest a decline in the food's consistency. The once-crispy burger patties can sometimes arrive greasy and a little soggy, lacking that satisfying crust that made them so special. The fries, which were once a must-have, can be undercooked and limp, or conversely, overcooked and brittle. The seasoning, which used to be so prominent, seems to be applied more sparingly. Even the frozen custard, while still a highlight, doesn't always feel as fresh or as rich as it once did.
While the menu and overall concept remain the same, it feels like something has changed in the execution. Whether it's a shift in ingredients, a change in staff training, or simply a lack of the passion that was once evident, the difference is noticeable. The food is no longer the consistently excellent experience it used to be. It's a shame, as this Freddy's location was once a reliable choice for a quick and satisfying meal. Now, it feels like a gambleâyou might get a decent meal, but it's no longer the guaranteed delicious fast food...
   Read moreI love Freddy's.
So after not going to Freddy's in AGES, I went to the 8909 Eastern Las Vegas 89183 location. i got a patty melt combo. You pay extra to get onion rings. I like those better than fries. When I get my order, there only 6 onion rings. They used to give you more like 12. Look at other people's pictures. To me, since you pay extra, you should get at least say 10. 6 looks whimpy. I really do like their food very much. But because of the issues I have with their app. I stopped going. And this is not helping their case any.
I tell you this so you know when they show up with a whopping 6 rings. You have been warned.
What follows is a review I did. Back when they made their changes to their app making me no longer able to use..
I'm not trying to be 1 of those people that just complain. But both issues seem like it would be so easy to fix. And I would DEFINITELY go back to being a loyal customer.
But they changed their app. I can't log in due to the STUPID changes they made to it.
So I guess I'm done eating at Freddy's.
It's a shame too because the food is really good.
Whoever is responsible for the app should be...
Read moreIâve been enjoying Freddyâs since they first arrived in Vegas. Tonight was a big disappointment. The burger was clearly not freshly grilled. It was room temperature, and the patties lacked even a hint of the usual lightly crispy edges and juiciness. The bun tasted like it had been grilled hours ago. It was like McDonaldâs on a bad day, but $7+ for a double without cheese served from a warmer is an insult to my wallet as well as my taste buds.
UPDATE:
Iâm done with this place. Canât get a freshly made burger even on request. Tonight, same as last time, after years of Freddyâs, I know a fresh burger when I get one. Hot. Not 85 degrees at best. Bun hot. Not cold. I specifically pointed out as I ordered that last time it was cold and to please make it fresh. I asked AGAIN as I got my receipt.
Maybe 45 seconds after sitting down Mr Grinning Employee came out with my burger. Cold.
No wonder I was the only customer. Because the dining room was completely sloppy, so I asked Mr Grin if it had been busy. He said no, never is at night. I got the only available clean table. Go figure. Adios Freddy. See you again soon on Rainbow...
