Our family visited the Blue Diamond Grimaldi’s location in Las Vegas, NV the week of Christmas. While our meal and service was as expected, we encountered issues when trying to take advantage of the well advertised Gift to Get camping (I.e. receive a $10 Bonus Card for every $50 Gift Card). So this review is not a rating on the Prosciutto Arugula or 4-Cheese pizza, but it’s mostly a reflection on their corporate practices. I had previously ordered an eGift card and received an email with the $100 Ecard; however the $20 Bonus Card was never e-mailed to the same address. Our waitress mentioned that I should receive a separate email for the bonus card and she needs the code from it in order to apply this promotion. She even called over her manager to assist us. At the time, while having a family of 11 waiting (including 5 kids!) it was hard to determine where the bonus card was sent and little guidance from Management was given on terms and conditions or how to access the bonus card. Since this was a well advertised campaign, we asked the Manager if he could apply the promotion on his end and override the bonus card. He insisted that without a code, there was nothing he could do! There have been other instances where without a code or coupon; Grimaldi cannot authorize a free pizza for your birthday even with a valid ID. I understand, that there need to be requirements in place and there are limitations placed around a promotion. However, it’s hard to accept the ZERO flexibility offered towards their Customers or the lack of empowerment provided to their management. I was able to access the $20 Bonus Card after calling Customer Support. However; 1st I would expect that the guidance given over the phone is the same basic knowledge on a promotion that the local staff on site should have or be given. 2nd. This wasn’t about the $20 Bonus Card but to hold off a large table and big family because you as a business are unable to provide management with the override authority or CARE less to be flexible with your customers and extend them a courtesy on a well known promotion Is something that is not worthy of our Loyalty! To say the least, this experience at a Grimaldi’s over Christmas Break will...
Read moreLet me start with I got the Don speciality Pizza and it was delicious. That's the pizza we saw online before we went and that's what got us to go there so we went with it. They push that it's all fresh ingredients and toppings and you can definitely taste the difference. Also ordered a house salad and she said it was big for a small and it was. It definitely was made for 2 and you almost could get away with 3 eating it. We also got there special lemonades they have like Peach,Green Apple, Strawberry. These are $4.25 each with No Refills. These were definitely not worth $4.25 and not to get refills ,they didn't seem to be that special. It did have 1 full sliced Fresh Strawberry in mine. Being the first time in 1 Year of driving and walking past the place and not knowing it was a pizza shop. We debated to take it to go or go in and site down. We ended up sitting down inside and ordering,we figured on it costs us about $27.00 more because we dined in instead of taking it to go. Its definitely a pricey place,I suggested to order a specialty pizza over ordering a pizza and adding fresh toppings. They start with a basic Cheese pizza at about $16 and than $2-$4 or maybe more for each topping you put on. Definitely cheaper to get a specialty with toppings already on it. The other thing I have to say is after walking and driving by for 1 year and finally going in a reading there menu there is a definite shock. We thought this was a very expensive fine Dining place by the looks and the signs. It is very nice inside and out with a bar that is half inside and half outside. And there prices are a little on higher side, but you get what you pay for when it comes to pizza, but after thinking 1 thing and actually reading the menu, there basically a nicer Basic Pizza Shop. There menu is very simple, pizza, salads, calzones and that's the basics of the menu. I did see alot of pizza boxes going out and they stayed busy the whole time we were there. The 1 plus I can give them over like Pizza Rock and Bacon Bar is there pizza Holds up A couple hours later and Pizza Rocks Dough and Bacon Bar is Soggy before you even leave the restaurant. So pricey and the...
Read moreThis place is AWESOME! To start the service was great. We choose to sit on the patio because it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Our host asked if our 3 year old daughter would like to play like the other kids and she got excited and said yes. After we were seated not even 2 minutes later she came back with a pizza tray and a piece of dough with flour on it...GENIUS!!! Then not long after a cool guy named Elmer came and introduced us as our server for the night. He provided GREAT customer service and was pretty good at crackin jokes :)
So now to the Food: We ordered the Large 18" regular pizza with Italian sausage, mushrooms on one half and just cheese on the other. It was the PERFECT size for my wife, my 3 year old daughter, and myself.
The Coal Brick-Oven Pizza lived up to its name, this reminded me of a true traditional Italian Pie. The crust was thin and perfectly crispy, the traditional red sauce was delicious, the real cheeses were a great change from the regular "fast food chain-food" places, and the sausage and mushrooms made the pizza that much better. Cant wait to try another combination next time!!
We live in Pahrump, and we still decided to get a Caramel Coconut Cheesecake to take home, my prego wife got convinced when she had seen the picture in the bathroom :P After an hour long drive that Cheesecake was still to die for!!!!
The only negative thing we would have would be the fact that we seen and made eye contact with the manager multiple times and not once did he come to ask how our meal or day was but he didn't hesitate to introduce himself and ask how the table next to us were along with the people at the bar were...In this life you can't take stuff personal :)
All in all we will definitely be back and will be recommending this place...
