The fusion of Filipino and Vietnamese food was unique and was the main factor of what brought me in. I had been to the restaurant that existed here before Mang Felix took over the space, and a lot of structure and layout is the same, including the taps at the bar that remain untouched. However it is still clean, but could maybe use some refining to make it more personal to Mang Felix. The food was very good, minus the tofu appetizer that was darkly fried on the outside, and still soft but oily on the inside. It seemed undercooked with the oil being too hot.
The lower stars come from the disorganization of service and the presentation of the menu. There appeared to be a dedicated person serving drinks and water, while other staff took orders and ran food. Though good in concept, it was poorly executed since our particular server barely checked on us. She also seemed less than thrilled to take our order and answer our questions. The drink person seemed to be doing more work than any other server and he helped us more than our server did. There were 4 people in my party and our food got brought out at different times, significantly different times. The person who got their food first could've finished eating their meal before the last person even saw their food come out of the kitchen. Given that we weren't sharing the dishes, it would be better to serve the food for everyone at the same time.
The menu is large and offers MANY choices both Filipino and Vietnamese, but my main issue with it was that many dishes were labeled "Coming soon". Though it is nice to see the promise of popular and tasty dishes coming in the future, it is detrimental. Some dishes provide a full description and draw you into wanting to order it, but it is still not available. This is interesting since the restaurant opened earlier in 2021 and has had ample time to be able to provide that offering. It makes it seem like the dish will never be available.
TLDR; Good food, but some dishes need refinement. Service could be improved with better training and more personal employees. Menu should be updated to not include items that...

There’s only a few Vietnamese pho in a pool of Filipino cuisine.
It’s definitely a go to resto for Filipinos who can’t cook or simply just want to have a break from their own cooking. Like Goldilocks but a bit more pricey.
Physical set up - newish. decent. Clean. we were seated on bistro corner table with really low seats not sure if the others noticed the same concern. Didn’t get to use restrooms so can’t comment on it.
Ambience - noisy, loud chattering but that’s Filipino culture- we talk and laugh as we eat :D we even have a humble guest fly :D
Food - need to take the ingredients easy.. dishes are generally oily. MSG ++. I cook so I know. Average portions, not American size :,) It’s supposed to be like that I guess..
Service - needs improvement. And this is a big thing for me at least because this is why I give tips and seriously. The crew are not as friendly and attentive. The dishes were served before the plates and cutlery. I waved countless of times for attention before, during and after meal to say we needed plates, then condiments, then to get the bill respectively. The staff just left the billing machine at our table. So here’s a tip- A happy and helpful crew influences happy clients.
Price value - pricey for what it’s worth. $$.
Overall- make sure you come hungry or you’ll never be able to eat your food and end up taking them home to redo the cooking in your own kitchen just like what I do most of the time.
I won’t be coming back anytime soon. I’ll also hesitate to recommend to friends. But because they have almost a hundred dishes to choose from I might try some more out of curiosity particularly the Vietnamese pho. The competition is stiff when it comes to Filipino cuisine.. and there’s quite a few out there that didn’t fail to disappoint. I’ll settle for my mom’s and my cooking. Sorry. I hope your opinion is...
Read moreWe were excited to try out the food in Mang Felix because it has a lot of Filipino, and let me tell you the food was amazing, my children love it! We are a party of 6 which they pretty much take out almost $25 for tip and that’s perfectly fine because I usually give good amount of tip when we go out and eat because I know how hard it is to work at a restaurant. The service I am disappointed because they were not really friendly at all, we were being rushed to order and our waiter literally just gave the menu book to us and I have 3 kids that are trying to order because they got excited with Filipino food, he seems annoyed and grabbed the book from my son when he can politely do it. Didn’t even check us if we need more drink or napkins and every time we are trying to get his attention he doesn’t seem to look at our table so my husband had to go to the counter to get what we need. For dessert I ordered halo halo we were already putting all our food in the to go box and he gave us the receipt and I told him can I just get the halo halo in the to go cup please he took the receipt out of my hand as I was looking at how much I have to pay, I found it very rude and when he came back he didn’t put the halo halo on the to go cup and as we were trying to tell him what we need he quickly took off again so my husband went to the counter again and get the cup so we can pay and leave. I felt like since he knew we have a big party that he will get automatically a good tip from us so why bother to take care of us.. So disappointing, love the food and the place is nice no complain but the service not so much.. I hope if we ever come back again that we will not encounter the same service because we even help him and pick up everything so it’s not hard for him and we didn’t get a good...
