Update Review March 24, 2024: So here we are, on a waiting game. Why? Because all the staff/employees are gathered in the front by the register either grabbing food from the orders, switching staff at the register, cleaning tables, handing checks, taking dine-in orders. Why is there not designated person for each task??? Everyone is doing everything and forgetting that others are waiting, waiting!!! How about starting each shifts with A at the register, B/C/D food servers, E/F tables, G/H register back ups etc. there needs to be a system!!!
I do have to say, desserts are still pretty good but we weren’t a fan of the Mango Passionfruit Mouse Cake, the taste of the outer layer wasn’t going together with the inside flavor but that’s just me and toddler’s opinion. Also, the other time we came here, several items weren’t available. They could have just told us which items weren’t available instead of telling us to pick another item only to be told that item wasn’t available either.
Since their opening and we’ve pretty much come here 1x/week since then, service has been very disorganized. When you enter, walk up to register, they’ll ask dine-in or take out. Dine-in customers will be told or directed to a table. BUT, if all the tables are full they’ll have you wait to be seated. Now your waiting for a table while others just entering are grabbing open tables because your dum6@SS is waiting to be seated as directed by a staff. The staff at the counter whispering to themselves “the new customer just took a table” and shrugs it off. This has never happened to us per say because who really listens to employees who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Suggestion, have a sign in the front with “dine-in” Wait to Be Seated or have a designated person in the front.
On a different issue, tables are occupied longer than it should be. So you’re now seated, waiting for a staff to take your order because the register lady tells you your order will be taken at the table and won’t take your order. No one comes for another 10mins, you finally catch a staff to take your order and your food comes. You’re now done after 20mins and waiting for someone to give your check. Another 15mins go by because again, no one is paying attention to give your check. So many people could have sat in that table had someone been more attentive in servicing the tables. I tried to pay at the register and was told she would have someone take my payment. Why can’t I pay my bill either at the register or during the time I ordered. No one plans to buy more stuff once they have ordered even in restaurants. In instances that they do want more, it’ll likely be for to-go. Just hand us the bill and let us pay right there and then so we can leave when we are done vs waiting another 15mins for a check.
Review Feb2023: Came during grand opening. I’d say they did a great job in making sure everyone was happy and assisted. The food was good, not overly sweet and their drink was perfect. That said, I’d have to return again and try other items in their menu to really judge the taste of their food and see how their employees are without the “big...
Read moreWhen I found out that Mango Mango Dessert was opening near me I was very excited to try their desserts. The decorations and theme in this store were very pretty but with the amount of people in there and the lack of walking space it was hard to enjoy. We were able to take our food to-go but a table opened up and we were asked if we wanted to take a seat instead. We decided to since we've never sat inside before. A nice young lady seated us and took our order. We ordered HOT ube sago and a mango dessert. The lady taking payments probably needed a lot more customer service training because she was not inviting and judging by this lovely place, the workers should match the atmosphere but other than the nice young lady the rest were dismissing.
Okay let's get to the dessert
HOT UBE SAGO is what we were expecting. But we got a bowl of cold ube sago. When we got the attention of a worker and told her our order wasn't hot she asked if we would like it heated? We asked...are you going to microwave it? She said no we can put it in a pot and heat it up...um, first of all....
My dessert has already been touched and why would I want a worker to take the food I already touched to be reheated in the back to be served back to me? Normally an establishment would rectify the issue with a replacement of the correct order. Instead she wanted to take not just one but both of our sago and reheat it and serve it back to us. Which makes no sense. The Mango Juice rice ball with ice cream was good, thankfully! I would order that one again.
Second, we were given 3 water in glass cups and these cups were disgusting. There was fingerprint smudges and stains on our glass. We did not drink from them.
We requested to take our sago to-go so we can heat it out ourselves at home but they insisted to take it back with them to bag it themselves which also took way too long. After complaining earlier about how cold it was, I would have rather packed the food myself so I know my food wasn't messed with.
All in all, atmosphere was good but the whole place lacked customer service. These young waitresses need better training and it's not their fault. This establishment has many stores across the country, there should be better training for these worker. I think how they handled our issue would have made a big difference. We were very disappointed with this experience and I hope that they do...
Read moreThis location is always busy so be prepared for a wait. Service is good despite the crowds. The desserts are hit or miss but are presented very photogenic-ly. Unfortunately they don't always look as good as they taste.
The interior of this location has a very pseudo posh/couture vibe and look going on. It is very well lit and a nice place to take pictures. The desserts are presented in a way that matches the ambiance. Looks can be deceiving though. We ordered the Mango Sundae, King Durian Creme Puffs, and a Vanilla Ice Cream Waffle Sandwich. The Mango Sundae is as expected, generic mango ice cream served with real mango fruit. It's decent. The King Durian Creme Puffs have a semi sugary exterior and durian ice cream-ish interior. It's not so much ice cream and it's not so much whipped cream, it's somewhere in the middle. The king durian flavor is there, not stinky, slightly vanilla/custardy tasting with a slight bit of bitterness. I like these. The waffle sandwich though.....what a let down. We were told it would take 15 minutes to make it. No problem, if it was worth the wait. It was, however, not. The vanilla ice cream is very generic tasting, no name brand mass produced type of thing. But the waffle, something is wrong with the waffle. It wasn't fluffy, nor did it have a crisp exterior. The texture was dense, doughy and didn't taste like it was fully cooked through. I'm suspecting there wasn't enough hydration to the batter. I would not recommend the waffle under any circumstance and would rather see it removed from the menu.
Mango Mango Dessert is a decent dessert cafe. The pricing is very reasonable. I'd have rated this lower if it costed more than what we paid but it is good for what it is. There is room for improvement and I believe a reduction in menu size would benefit quality and consistency overall. They are worth a stop by if the line isn't too long. Getting take out is also an option if you don't care about...
