Almost everything I got was too dry. Cherry popover (triangle) Apple fitter style popover Apricot danish Cream filled choc donut Cream filled horn Lemon poppyseed muffin

The best (still not something Id re-buy) was the cream filled horn. The cream was stiff enough to hold up to the crisp horn, was almost concerned it was too stiff... like a baked merengue, or stiff marshmallow fluff stiffness. And neither part was very sweet, as they should not be. The packed on sugar crystals are deceiving (not too sweet)... but do not negatively affect the flavor.

Apple fritter-like popover was ok. Flavor was ok, moisture level on fritters is tough to do right (to not be gooey, and not too dry) this was ok as a popover..

The lemon poppyseed muffin would have been ok, except for the glop of oversweet lemon gel in the bottom, which I didnt know would be there. And, the lemon flavors did not match.

The cream texture & flavor was weird in the donut. Thick with a bit of tang to it... sour cream? Cream cheese? Crisco? Just not sure. I couldnt finish it.

The fruit pastries left something to be desired.

Personally, I will try some other shops.

UPDATE: thanks for your reply. Nope, not a competitor, and not from KY or OH. You can see my other reviews world wide. Turn over and popover, yup, interesting name change when traveling through the USA and internationally, which is why I included the shape (true: popovers can be a very different item, as can a turnover), like the meaning of barbeque or chai or soda. There are plenty of 5star replies that support your store, this was just my review. I do a lot of reviews (not just google maps, ha!). Your location appears to have dedicated followers, congrats! BTW, I omitted the "last week" bread condition,...

I love the food at this location but....the customer service is down right pitiful. I am a long time patron of Emerson. I make purchases here all the time bc it's close to my home. I had to go in this morning and ask for change to get on the bus to get to work. The lady gave me a nasty look, asked what kind of change I wanted and looked over to the other lady and said "well I guess I'll have to open my drawer." Are you kidding me!!! What's wrong with people these days?! Did I really just ruin her day bc she had to reach her hand to the button and press it to open her drawer!! How lazy! How rude! What about common courtesy and compassion for your fellow man. I just don't get it. But needless to say, I will not be back to this Emerson, at least until the rude lady is gone and by her character and mannerisms I seriously doubt that will be a long time...

If I want a donut or pastry this is where I try to go. Depending on if my craving hits during the day or night. If it's at night I'll wait till the mornin. But this is a true bakery. When I think chocolate eclairs or apple turnovers this is my place to go. Yum! makes my mouth water thinking about it. The donuts are fresh and bigger than normal and the birthday cakes are pretty and still taste good. Homemade bread and rolls too. Gotta make this a quik review so I can head there for some butter cookies. Everything that I have bought here has been excellent. I've been getting birthday cakes here since my 35 yr olds 5th Birthday so they must be doin something right. The ladies there are nice n patient especially with the kiddos and it's still...
