1st Wok Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Erlanger

My favorite Chinese restaurant since they opened! I've been to about 20 different Chinese restaurants in my lifetime and this place has the freshest most flavorful dishes. I'm surprised at all the negative reviews. To me the dishes are generous portions and I wind up taking home half my order. It's no more expensive than other fast food joints around here. I don't mind the price because its so good. I've encountered the women who usually runs the register and handles the table service. She's nice and always gets our order right! The man who I assume owns the place is courteous but he's all business.... but never has anyone been rude to me!! I've watched the staff with other customers and have only witnessed respectful interactions. Now sometimes I hear the staff appearing to yell at each other...but hey....they're working with family ALL DAY!!! I usually get the Egg foo young, crab rangoon and fried rice. I've also tried the chicken lo mein , Happy Family, Sweet and Sour chicken .... I had one dish a long time ago that was marked on the menu as spicy...and for my taste it was too spicy...but my husband really enjoyed it. My advice....try it...

12-25-2023 First time visit. They were extremely busy on Christmas day. The wait was about 45 minutes for order to be made. Their restaurant is tucked in the corner of a plaza. They had about 7 or 8 tables. The inside really needs a total refresh. It's very tired and old. The photos for dishes on the wall are so faded you can barely tell what's in the dish. I ordered the sesame chicken and egg rolls Wife had sesame chicken and crab rangoon. The sesame chicken was average in flavor. The chicken was good. The portion size was very good. The pork egg rolls were the smallest I've ever had from a Chinese restaurant. The flavor was average. I did encounter some gristle in one of the egg rolls from the pork. The fried rice was decent. Overall I would say this was simply an average meal, and nothing stood out as rich in flavor or memorable. Based on other reviews, those who are rating the actual food are giving more realistic star averages. It seems those who are rating how nice the people are who own it give much higher star averages, even though they do say the...

I called 1st Wok to place an order for delivery...I was told they use Door Dash now and she hung up on me. I should have know then to go somewhere else...but O placed my order for 1st Wok through Door Dash at 6:30. Door Dash’s website and app go down and it is 8:15 and my food is still not here. I called 1st Wok and they confirmed that my food had been sitting there the whole time “getting cold”. I told them that I didn’t want cold food delivered. The guy then said, “That’s Door Dash’s problem, not ours!” Maybe it is Door Dash’s fault...but I am paying my money to 1st Wok and they chose to deliver through Door Dash. This is most definitely NOT my fault and should be treated better than this. I have been going to 1st Wok for several years...sadly, I am now looking for a new local Chinese restaurant.
