The food was great. But let me be clear when I say this meal could have been the best Chinese food in the universe and I would still never step foot inside this establishment again. It’s Christmas day, and I understand it might take a little longer to prep my order given the rush and very few places being open, but what I experienced was a biblical catastrophe a La “lord of the flies” in there.

I placed my order at 5:20 over the phone. We arrived for pick up at 5:45 as they said it would be 30 minutes. The place was already packed. I stood in line for 20 minutes before I got to the front to pay for, and presumably pick up my order. I paid for my order, and was instead given a number and told it would be right out. After another 20 minutes I realized no one inside the restaurant (about 40 people waiting for food) was getting their order. They simply weren’t calling numbers and bringing orders up. People were starting to get understandably antsy. Everyone, including myself, was told we would be getting our orders soon. More time passes. At this point I had been waiting for 45 minutes beyond the time they said my order would be ready. Customers were lining up at the front, who had been waiting even longer, demanding answers. Hungry people just kept lining up and filling the restaurant behind me.

Still no orders were being handed to anyone. Then people began demanding refunds, some of which were getting denied due to having paid online and not having the physical card on them. It looked like they were trying to shingle a roof with the order tickets taped literally A OVER THE PLACE. It was glorious chaos. The tension was quickly mounting and people were becoming understandably infuriated. Another 30 minutes passed. Customers began to collaborate, not being able to process refunds, and triangulate who ordered what/when and figure out whose orders were likely coming up. Management played dumb and it became apparent that they were only processing the orders of the customers who were absolutely on their last nerve and becoming understandably verbally irritated. Also, infuriatingly, anyone who actually sat down to eat was being served. Plated meals kept leaving the kitchen.

A person in front of me in line ACTUALLY PASSED OUT as they had been waiting for food for well over an hour. People just started leaving, we all cheered whenever anyone actually got their order and left the building. We trauma bonded with other desperate patrons wondering if we were part of some sick social experiment. I eventually tried to get a refund and leave but couldn’t flag anyone down. Finally, after standing there for nearly TWO HOURS my order came out. People who had been there before me were still waiting for food, unable to get a refund.

I have had better times at the DMV. This was absolutely catastrophic. I truly hope this was due to a fluke management meltdown and not the norm for this place but I for one will never return due in part to the ptsd suffered alongside many others on this unforgettable Christmas. China NOT...

YES!!! Finally! A REAL authentic Chinese restaurant in Escondido. I don't know how I missed them before as I was told they've been here for almost a year. This place has REAL dim sum... just a few items but they are done well such as the shumai (pork) and chicken feet. CHICKEN FEET in Escondido!!! The hargow (shrimp) was a little wanting but not having to drive down to Kearny Mesa makes them 5 stars excellent. Also got the shao lung bao, little steamed dumplings which were tasty - too much emphasis on the shao (little). A bit pricey but what isn't these days? You still don't have to drive down to Clairmont. I just had the dim sum and fried rice (good but hard to mess up fried rice). Looking forward to trying some actual dishes but I know it's as authentic as the cute country girl waitresses... everyone's straight from China. I tried what Mandarin I knew but I didn't...

We have taken out food from China Fun at least 5 times. First off this is why they earned 5 stars from me: The menu is extensive. The portions are large. The prices very reasonable. The food is cooked to order and hot. They make substitutions. Most importantly the ingredients are high quality. This means the proteins and vegetables look and tadte great and are properly cooked. They have the best spring rolls and the sauces in the dishes are excellent. My only suggestion is that there can be a little bit of a language barrier, so you may want to repeat or have your order read back. But they are very nice and helpful. They also have a nice clean dining room for eat in. I hope they can keep up the...

Just opened this little gem on East Valley Parkway in Escondido. Beautiful and modern interior design with lots off room. Friendly and attentive staff. Wide range menu with a lot of choices even for your picky eaters. For us foodies, I was not disappointed and chose a lot off the menu to try. Honey Walnut Shrimp, Warton Soup, House Fried Rice, Fresh Orange Chicken, which all were absolutely amazing. Everything was made to order and fresh from the pan. Great experience and a must to put on your regular new places to dine out at.

As stated below, food is GREAT! The service was good, we waited longer than expected but waiter did apologize and stated they were extra busy. I thought the portions were more than enough, or at least what we ordered. We got a little bit of everything. .vegetable soup and chicken fried wontons to start, beef chow mein, an orange chicken bowl and bbq pork buns. It all tasted clean and fresh, not greasy or like fast food at all. (ps. We had already eaten from the soup before the picture and broth was delicious)

Pros: Happy employees Clean bathroom Nice, bright, open seating Most dishes are good Bf liked the Seafood delight Chicken paws (yes, paws on menu) Dumplings I loved the Moo Shu Pork Cons: Chewy beef in Chow Fun (bummer, I followed Yelp recommendation) Sesame chicken too hard Communication is difficult for special requests. I requested 3 dishes be low-sodium. Request was only applied to one. Oh well. Everyone is SO nice. We generously tipped cash and will return. This was our 2nd visit.
