TOM's Famous Family Restaurant 23 — Restaurant in Escondido

I love this place, but it isn't perfect. Sometimes it misses the mark. I've gotten the incorrect sides or dishes before and sometimes I really don't mind but if your dining in and you happen to be able to pop over to the register and let them know what happened I've always experienced that they were really quick to fix it. Mistakes happen I'm not going to let that ruin my experience. The food has almost always been top here for a quick family diner. The only time I ever experienced an issue with on mother's Day I ordered a meal with hash browns and they were the absolute worst hashbrowns I've ever had. I can't put my finger on what went wrong with them but they were not great. Besides that though I love the diner, I love the drive-thru it's very convenient. Their breakfast meals and breakfast burritos are out-of-this-world I haven't had an opportunity to try anything else really. My go-to is the chicken...

Great food at fantastic prices! Randomly saw this place driving up the road and thought to give it a try. Inside it's an old school style family restaurant. Nothing fancy to the atmosphere. You order at the register then sit down with your number placard. The menu is appropriate for a breakfast restaurant with plenty of very reasonably priced options. I ordered the diced ham and eggs. It came with 3 scrambled eggs, diced ham, hash browns, a couple orange slices and coffee with refills. The food was plentiful and delicious. Seems to have gone downhill while the prices went up. I ordered the steak and eggs this morning and the steak was tough. When a waitress came by and asked me how my meal was I explained to her how the steaks used to be tender but today it was really tough. She smiled and apologized. I came in with my two sons and the entire meal was darn near $30. I could have had a better experience at Denny's. After placing my order I asked for water glasses.
