This place is super cute. We were excited to come here after seeing all the great reviews online. However, this was THEE most unseasoned Mexican food I have ever encountered. Taco Bell and chipotle have more flavor than this place. The salsa was tasteless. Worse than the stuff that comes in a jar. We ordered the bean and queso dip. The queso was so soupy and seemed like they got down to the end of the container and added water to stretch it or to save a few cents. It was so thin you could probably drink it with a straw. Let’s talk about those little ugly, blue, plastic baby sippy cups for water. Y'all are too cute to have plastic cups. You take two sips and it’s gone. Just sitting there thirsty after eating those dry, tasteless tortilla chips. I ordered the mango margarita. It looked so good in the glass. However, that too didn’t have much flavor. I tried my friend’s tamarind margarita and that looked like it should have been exploding with all the flavors. NOPE, also bland. How does one make a bland tamarind margarita?! Even the plain margarita had no taste. What purée are you guys using? Please retire it. Y'all have great potential! I ordered the chimichanga with ground beef, no tomatoes and extra cheese. The rice and guacamole was pretty good, So good job on that. However, why on God’s green earth do Y'all put potatoes in the chimichanga? I know I read the menu and no where on there did it say potatoes. I was so confused. The meat had absolutely no flavor or seasoning. I’m willing to bet that Alpo (canned dogfood) has more flavor than what y'all slapped in that burrito. We were really trying to figure out how and why y'all have so many great reviews for your bland and tasteless food. I came to the conclusion that The majority of the folks dining, looked to be the kind of people who only have salt and pepper in their pantry. So it actually made sense. Again, you guys have great potential. Please revisit y'all's spice rack and add some flavor to it. And please choose a different brand of vanilla ice cream. Switch vendors or get better quality or something especially for the prices you have. Even though the food was below basic, the service was exceptional. The pretty young lady with the two nose rings did...
Read moreWe called a week in advance for my Dad's 60th Birthday and they said there's no reservations just let us know how many people and what day. We clearly stated we wanted a big table once there we get a big table next to the fireplace which is great because it was raining that day and it was freezing, we sit down and I get up to talk to a lady hostess walking around and I tell her if it where possible to turn on the fireplace and her response was "why are you cold"? I said well yeah and it's my dad's birthday that's why we picked this section of the whole restaurant (in the most nicest voice I could round up) and she assured me she would get someone to come and turn it on, 30 minutes pass and our waiter comes and says sorry but the fireplace doesn't work...I reply umm okay? So that was the introduction of Mi Guadalajara Restaurant....Now for my dish that I ordered - Molcajete with shrimp and steak and nopales in a red salsa...what a disgrace for a Mexican dish!.. They added two shrimps on there the steak was the cheapest of its kind little skinny strips the red salsa have might as well been spaghetti sauce and the portions were ridiculous for the price tag. (I will show pictures for reference) And here's the Kicker I'm Mexican and whenever we serve up Molcajete dish it comes in a Lava Rock Molcajete, but Mi Guadalajara Restaurant serves it in a plastic bowl???...What a joke! Also OSHA should come and take a little visit to see is the bowls are BPA Free(talking about eating off boiling hot plastic bowls....The side dish I got where beans and rice and it looked like a week old the guacamole and looked like someone put that together inside a bathroom or something..It's pretty much Jail food. Ignore this place go somewhere else THIS IS NOT REAL MEXICAN FOOD.But don't take my word for it go for yourself and...
Read moreWent to lunch yesterday with my husband. Let me tell you, we are huge fans of Mi Guadalajara. Been going there for years! The food is always 100% spot on delicious. We are never disappointed with the food. And such a great atmosphere. Service is usually pretty good, however, I'm on here to complain about how rude the hostess we encountered was yesterday! We walked in, she didn't even say hello just, "2?" (With no smile) I didn't even respond to her my husband did, he knew I wasn't happy with the way she said it. She walks ahead of us all fast, drops the menus down on the table and leaves before we even get to the table! Then as we leave the restaurant she is standing there at the hostess stand, with the restaurant completely dead inside, we walked right by her and she put her head down. She didn't even say goodbye, nothing. Our server was a little slow considering there were only 3 tables as well. Our server didn't even ask us how everything was or is until we were done eating. I wanted hot sauce, but I never saw her until I was done eating. Not to mention her lack of not refilling our ice teas. The friendly chips and salsa food runner had to keep getting our refills. If it is busy I get it, but lunch on a Monday was slow and this was really ridiculous for this kind of service. Having bad/slow service like this seriously makes me reconsider where I dine and spend my money. I would miss the food, but not some of the service. Management, please get on your staff or we will not be...
