Had the most delightful experience at Cafe Mediterraneo. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that truly set the tone for our evening. Special thanks to Domenic, Deborah, Ava, Yvonne, and Emily for going above and beyond to make our Valentine's Day dinner unforgettable. Despite a mistake on our end with the reservation, they graciously accommodated us and ensured that we had a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance of Cafe Mediterraneo is charming and inviting, with cozy seating and tasteful decor that transports you to the Mediterranean coast. The menu offers a delectable array of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, each expertly prepared with fresh, flavorful ingredients. We started our meal with the bruschetta, which was bursting with vibrant flavors and served on perfectly toasted bread. For our main course we had a gnocchi dish with house made sauce and chicken Marsala , a true masterpiece of culinary artistry. To top it all off, we enjoyed a decadent dessert special of the night a strawberry cake that was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Throughout our dining experience, the staff at Cafe Mediterraneo provided impeccable service, ensuring that every aspect of our evening was flawless. I can't recommend Cafe Mediterraneo highly enough (we come everytime we’re in Portsmouth) for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience in Portsmouth. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving exceptional cuisine, this charming restaurant is sure to exceed your expectations. Thank you to the entire team at Cafe Mediterraneo for a truly...

I only recently tried their food. The customer service was perky and friendly. The preparation time for my item was very fast.
They also have a moderate variety of specialty European dry goods from candy to coffee!
I enjoyed the gyro with lamb and beef, served on a pita with lettuce, tomato, diced red onions, and tzatziki. The tzatziki had dried dill, lacking brightness.
The portion size was large for $6.99 plus tax and tip. The gyro weighed over half a pound...of which it was 1/3 of a pound of meat!!!
I had to stop eating halfway, unfortunately, to take a picture for proof.
The chicken Gyro is very tasty. It is served with seasoned white meat chicken on a pita with lettuce, tomato, diced red onion and tzatziki.
The Cevapi platter was generously portioned, with double starch!
Bosnian skinless beef sausages are served over rice with a small salad, tzatziki, and a toasted pita.
The handmade Cevapi were made from super finely ground beef with fresh garlic and were bursting with moisture and tenderness, not the usual traits for most sausages, including my own, according to my baby mama.
For a change up with more carbs and a little less protein, the Lamb Gyro wrap was very filling and delicious.
Properly pressed, I was impressed.
This is a great cheap spot for a quick cultural hit to...
Read moreAte there for dinner this evening and will say this is the first review I have ever left for any restaurant. I am leaving it because it was so unbelievable to me that I feel people need to know. We dined in and were sitting where we could see, in plain view, the food being prepared. An older gentleman and a younger teen/early 20’s boy were working and both were barehanded while preparing food. We watched them make wraps and gyros, adding lettuce tomatoes and onions all with no gloves, then grabbing ahold of them and barehanded rolling them up. We were was mortified. At least 4 unsuspecting customers came in for pick up orders and I came near telling them how their meal was prepared for them. I think the most ironic part is that the box of gloves was sitting right on a shelf near the prep table. Such a let down that some people in the food business can’t see how unbelievably unsanitary and all out disgusting it is to make another persons food with their bare, un-gloved hands. Very gross and unacceptable. Obviously won’t be eating there ever again. And would like to add that the older man, assuming the owner, is quite unpleasant /...
