Antlers Rooftop Tavern — Restaurant in Estes Park

Estes Park was jumping on the Monday late afternoon/early evening when we were there. Should have been a warning that VERY few customers were dining at Antlers. The atmosphere is fine. Our server was nice enough but appeared to be overworked. There were several young men "working", but never seemed to help the server with much of anything. However, she never did ask if we wanted refills. Then, it goes downhill. The good news is that my daughter said the Fish Tacos were delicious. But, I ordered the Brussels Spouts. I LOVE sprouts. These were not good at all. They were small and tough. It was a very small plate for $13. I also ordered the Soup of the Day, which was apparently Mexican Meatball. I say apparently because we had finished our drinks and food and no soup was delivered. The server mentioned a few times that it was on the way. I asked for the bill and for the soup to be removed. It was and on the way out I was told that I was the first person to order the soup that day. IT WAS 7PM! The dudes who are "working" should maybe let the server know if something is not available. 1 beer, 1 lemonade (no refill), 3 fish street tacos (no side), and the sprouts with tip (because it may not all be the servers fault) was $51. I really wish we would have chosen...

We came in for dinner and was sat on the patio, waited for ten minutes while all of the 2 waiters avoided eye contact and didn’t bring us water or offer to order drinks. The patio was run down and dirty/dingy. We had decided to go somewhere else after reading through the reviews better rather than just the star ratings and realized that they are probably inflated by friends and also because we were hungry and didn’t want to wait 30 minutes for food if we ever did get acknowledged. As we were getting up, a waiter finally came over and said it would be a couple more minutes and someone would come take our order. We let him know we would be leaving and he said he could take our order then, and we said no, that was okay. He then said he hoped we could find somewhere better to eat, which was a bit passive aggressive. As we were leaving, we saw three staff in the back just filling ketchup bottles and a bunch of trash and debris on the ground around...

As a family visiting from another state, we looked up some places on Google and this popped up as 4.9 stars.

We were excited and we were really looking forward to the rooftop seating and the glowing reviews!

One thing that was disappointing was the service. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, however, she mentioned a couple of times that this is her first job waitressing. As a result, our service was slow and we had to wait a significant amount of time for our food to come out. When the food did come out, only 3 out of 7 meals were served. We waited about 10 minutes and the rest of the meals were delivered.

I noticed an overall lack of organization from the staff in addition to the lack of training to staff. This place has great potential, but I am disappointed because my only reason for bringing my family here was due to the reviews.
