This place is appalling. My husband and I booked this place for our honeymoon and I wish I never knew this place existed. We booked one of their newly renovated rooms so everything should have been fine, but the owners clearly don't care about cleanliness. This place is dirty, disgusting, and they should be ashamed of themselves. The room was smelly and when we walked in, we noticed the blinds were messed up, so if we had the lights on at night someone could surely see in. So we thought we would use their towels for curtains since we brought our own towels. Their towels were STAINED. This prompted us to start looking around.... There was what seemed to be black mold in the bathroom which probably contributed to the smell. The toilet definitely had not been cleaned as there was someone's previous business and toilet paper sitting there waiting for me. Everything was FILTHY. The bed sheets had stains on them, the bathroom door and mirror had weird gross drippings/splatterings and schmutz on them. The kitchen stove was filthy. The bedside table and kitchen cabinets had clearly not been cleaned either. Honestly, they should be absolutely ashamed of the state of that room we were given, and ashamed of charging people a cleaning fee when they are too lazy and disgusting to clean. We probably stayed no more than two hours in that room before we ran screaming out of there. I left these people an email about the state of things and was ignored. I tried calling multiple times after our encounter but I have not been able to get a hold of them. They charged me a couple days ago, a month after our visit even after I emailed attempting to have them cancel and refund (refund the deposit and cleaning fee they initially charged back in Feb). They really, truly, should be ashamed and disgusted with themselves. I have never witnessed such filth in a lodge or hotel room.

I stayed there with my grandparents on our trip last weekend and the only good thing I can say is the pull out couch was actually comfortable. My grandmother was washing her makeup off at thw sink and barley put her hands on it when me and my grandfather hear a loud crash and go to see her holding the bathroom sink up with her knee. We used the kitchen sink for the rest of our visit because we didn't have a bathroom sink anymore. This happened our very first day there. The sink wasn't properly mounted it was just glued on and was a safety hazard. Come to find the people in the room next to us also had a similar issue with am animal head that was up on their wall also falling down while they stayed there. And no ac made the rooms very hot even with opening windows and having the fans that they provide plus the ones we brought on all day. The owners need to do some serious work and actually check in more.

Location, location, location. Stayed at the Misty Mountain Lodge in Estes Park for 3 nights this past week. We had room #4, which consisted of a nice size living room with flat screen, a kitchen with dining area, and bedroom with closet and bathroom with tub / shower. Back to the location, the Misty Mountain is located about 3 blocks from the downtown area, affording you the opportunity to leave your car at the Lodge and walk downtown without finding and paying for a place to park. Dealt with Lisa (owner) a number of times via email and also after we had arrived. Could not be more pleased with the customer service. Finally, we were greeted TWICE during our stay by Elk within 20 - 30 feet of our front door. Now, if this concerns you just know that they won't bother you if you don't bother them. Also, if you find them on property and ARE concerned, just wait about 5 minutes ... they move on.

Unfortunately our experience this time around at the lodge was not as we expected.

Pros:

Proximity to town is great. You are within a two minute walk to shops and restaurants.

Value was average. Our cabin, number 11 was still yet to be updated so the price was just ok.

There were plenty of pillows and blankets.

The small gas stove worked as did the small microwave.

Lisa, one of the caretakers, let us borrow her crockpot which was an awesome blessing. She was also cordial and helped us out with whatever extra items we needed.

Soap and shampoo were provided.

Large TV above the fireplace

Cons:

Our top con is that we were charged $100 for damage to an old chest that acted as a coffee table in the middle of the living room. When we came in we noticed that the hinges and the back side of the chest were broken. Should have taken a picture for proof. That was my mistake. Shortly after leaving we received a call that it was damaged and would be charged for it. There was nothing I could do to dispute and our card was already on file.

We left our room clean from top to bottom and checked out at 10am on the dot. We left our van in the parking lot and walked down to shop a bit before we left. When we came back to get the van a couple of our group needed to go to the bathroom. So we checked to see if the door was open to our cabin, it was and no one had been in to clean or anything so they used the bathroom. They were rudely chastised by a male caretaker for being in the room after checkout.

Both of our back rooms were at least 15 to 20 degrees colder than the front room. There is no air circulation to the back unless you leave the doors open. So there is no privacy for the backrooms if you want to stay warm. There is a centralized heating unit in the middle of the front room that pushes air out towards the front of the building away from the back bedrooms. The bathroom which is only accessed through one of the bedrooms in the middle of the two back bedrooms was frigid and very small, just wide enough for you to walk through. If someone has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night you will be woken up, the door is loud and the fan which switches on with the light is very loud. The doornobs were loose and coming off of several of the doors.

Kitchen area is about 4' x 4' and had 3 small pans to cook with. The refrigerator was decently sized and worked well.

Our bed was overly firm.

Hot tub was locked and only accessible at certain times.

Construction made it brutal getting in and out of there. This is at no fault to the lodge but just a pain. The parking area is maybe 2 feet off of a main road so when you are loading or unloading your vehicle you have cars going by right next to you.

Overall as things were we wouldn't return to the lodge and missed having the previous...

Disappointed. Misrepresented. 8-29-2023. The lodge was not what is advertised to be and when discussing this with the staff on site this was met with animosity and disrespect. Within an hour of checking in we tried to address the shortcomings however the female staff member had left to take her son to football and were told by the male staff member that this is his wife’s thing and he can’t make any decisions. Items that needed addressing: Bathtub not holding water Construction workers sanding and painting the deck access to where we were staying while drinking beers (loud, wet pain and inappropriate for evening) Microwave not working The rooms odorous used car pine air fresher smell (our son has asthma and this was not healthy for anyone) Hollow-core door (an interior door) used the exterior door with a nob-lock with added flimsy chain lock.

We wished to address the shortcomings collegially however the women staff member who presumably could address our concerns was not on site. We returned multiple times to address the issue however the staff member did not return until 9pm. Once we entered the office this staff member verbally escalated the situation without initially hearing our concerns listed above. Subsequently stating they are not the owners and do not have authority to address this. When we asked for the owners contact information the staff member refused to give this to us. The female staff member then told us we could just leave. Which we did with our toddler son at 9pm. At this point we were concerned for our safely and health not only from the room perspective but from the staff members. The staff has refused to give us a refund or the contact information for the owner.

If you are the owner of the lodge we would be interested in discussing our experience in more detail. The website and prior reviews are promising; however, the new management are destroying what once seemed like a nice get-away. Save your money and frustration and book...

We had a goal of staying at a place that was a vintage cabin type, fireplace, kitchen, hot tub, BBQ grill, and outside firepit for Valentine/birthday weekend. This place had it all. We loved this place. Super cute, updated vintage cabin. Very clean. Log beds perfectly fit the decor, comfy mattresses. Loved the fireplace in the evening. Remodeled bathroom, very clean. Outdoor hot tub was awesome. There is an outside firepit should you want to make smores with family. We went in the winter, but we could see there were games available like cornhole We love to cook, not big go out-to-eat type of people, so the kitchen was great, also saves money. Coffee machine with coffee was included. They had Sling and Tubi if you want to kick back to watch a movie. Great location right by Estes Park shopping district, literally within walking distance, but yet secluded. Behind is a stone side of a mountain, so that view was beautiful too. You can hear the babbling stream/river across the street. You can see the Rocky Mountains from the bedroom and living room windows. Stanley Hotel is close. Grocery store is close. Rocky Mountain National Park is close. Lots of walking trails close, including Lake Estes. Some construction remodeling going on in the office which will be nice when done, and newer owners have been doing updates to the cabins. Does not take pets, but there is an awesome dog kennel nearby (you can email shot records and make reservations in advance). This place was not listed on hotels.com website. We had booked another place, they overbooked. We found this place driving by. (They do have a website to book on should you want to make advance reservations). Thank you, Tammy, for helping us make our first trip to Estes Park memorable. She let us look at both the cabin and the room to decide. Both looked awesome, had fireplace, and kitchen, and both reasonably priced. Has cleaning fee but they were clean. This place was perfect for us. I would...
