When our two sons were GROWING UP, we ALWAYS LOVED to have SUPER BIRTHDAY PARTIES for THEM. I REMEMBER ONE YEAR, WE ACTUALLY HAD TWO PARTIES for BEN. (It was IMPOSSIBLE to fit ALL the ACTIVITIES into ONE PARTY. We SOLVED the problem!!!) EACH YEAR WHEN WE PLANNED their PARTY, JOSH and BEN KNEW IT WOULD BE THEIR TOTAL RESPONSIBLITY TO CHOOSE THE CAKE !!! BOTH BOYS ALWAYS LOVED to HAVE the DAIRY QUEEN ICE-CREAM-CAKES. THEY MADE EVERY DECISION ABOUT THEM. HOW BIG, WHAT FLAVORS, WHAT DESIGNS, ETC. THEY ALWAYS TRIED to get one SO BIG THAT SOME WOULD be LEFT over to ENJOY AFTERWARDS. BUT, THAT NEVER HAPPENED. IN THAT, INDEED, THEY WERE WISHING ON A STAR!!! WE WERE NEVER DISAPPOINTED with ONE of THEIR CAKES♥️‼️😀 THEIR HEARTS and MINDS were filled with DREAMS and FANTASTIC FANTASIES ... What FUN WE HAD CHOOSING the PINATAS and WHAT THEY WOULD BE STUFFED with; would a CLOWN or MAGICIAN come? OR WOULD IT BE HELD at the WAVE POOL?!? OH, WHAT JOY ♥️‼️😄 To be ABLE to HAVE SUCH HAPPY TIMES - NEVER RUSH or WASTE the YEARS WHEN YOUR CHILDREN are GROWING up. THEY are TOO DELISHIOUS 🍑 to FORGET. YES!!! I STILL REMEMBER MAKING the CRUSHED OREOS to create the dirt in the plastic cups, so candy worms and green-candy 🐸 s could be placed on the top. THEY WERE BOYS through- and-through!!! HOW would we have gotten through EACH ONE'S BIRTHDAY PARTIES EACH YEAR without DAIRY QUEEN!?! Believe me, if we were Home and not in Africa, I could certainly share SOME SERIOUS BIRTHDAY PARTY PICTURES. I invite ANYONE who has NOT ALLOWED HIMSELF or HERSELF to CHECK-IN to DAIRY QUEEN'S ICE CREAM CAKES ♥️ for BIRTHDAY PARTIES; Don't WASTE TIME. BELIEVE ME ‼️ THEY ADD ABSOLUTELY TO REACHING the TRUE CLIMAX of the PARTY DAY and the PICTURES!!! NEVER MISS the TURNING-POINT!!! (Well, it's like climbing the Middle Teton ... Once you are over half-way, you would NEVER MISS MAKING IT TO THE TOP ‼️I mean, THINK about IT!?! IF YOU DID, YOU WOULD MISS SEEING ALL the BEAUTIFUL, REFRESHING VIEWS From the TOP ‼️ PICTURES!?! SOFT BREEZES ♥️‼️) NEVER, EVER MISS OUT on ONE of GOD'S CHILDREN HAVING MEMORIES CREATED THAT YOU SHARED TOGETHER; BECAUSE THEY GROW UP and THEY WON'T BE LIVING at HOME To PLAN YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS ACTIVITIES ALWAYS - BE TOGETHER AS A FAMILY ETERNALLY - IF POSSIBLE!?! MAKE the GOOD FAMILY TIMES A SERIOUS PRIORITY - EVEN SOMETHING SO SIMPLE AS A CHILD'S BIRTHDAY. CREATE MIRACLES ♥️‼️ HEY, YOU CAN...
Read moreI grew up with Dairy Queen being a fun place we'd go for food and ice cream. So my complaints are not coming from a place of one failed DQ order.... No, they are coming from almost two years of failed orders in the hopes that it will improve. Perhaps it is just the Dairy Queen near me that has this big an issue. The food is good..... When you get what you order. The service is far less than desirable. The one by my house has so many kids working there it has become more like a day care center than a fast food restaurant. I am all for kids learning good work ethic, but there is not an adult in sight the last several times I've been there, so you get teens standing around rolling their eyes or blowing you off frequently.
The past couple years every order has been wrong, had missing items or has been a mess. I am paying for items I am not getting and when I go and tell them they either begrudgingly fix the issue or they tell me to go to the website to get a refund on half the missing order. The website says to talk to the store directly, and if you try to report on the website about an issue it is a nearly 30 minute process filling in order numbers, going through several menu selections and eventually when you get done with all of that, the website either has a dead button, won't send the information, or you just never hear back.
In the hopes that it would improve over time and that something would change I have continued to try and order and try again, at this point though after yet another failed attempt and more money down the drain, I've just lost my nerve and all hope that they will improve because in two years they have not. I've lost around $60 in failed orders, and have spent more time than I should have on trying to get items replaced or attempting to report the failures online. Fond childhood memories or not, I just can't waste another dollar at a place that doesn't care enough to get it right. I don't say any of it lightly, I'm genuinely disappointed in the experiences I've had over the past couple years. My two star rating is still more out of kindness than that of a person that has been repeatedly let down. It...
Read moreAre the glory days of DQ over? It used to be a rule that you did not hand out a dripping ice cream cone. I guess that changed by the look on the girls face when I asked her to remake it. I ordered a medium vanilla dipped cone. I was the only one in the drive through. I pulled up to the window and I saw her holding the ice cream cone and I thought "Surely that cannot be for me" it was dripping from like five places and was about to hit cone. I asked her if she could remake it and she questioned me. I said it is dripping, she turned around with her back to me and in a snarky tone said to another girl. "She wants it remade.. it is dripping".. That girl grabbed the cone and came to the window, held out the DRIPPING cone and said "You want to have this remade in a tone like she was talking to a school child, that was in trouble. (I think she thought I would go okay, no you are right, I am asking too much, please give me the cone that is now dripping on your hand) Finally someone came to the window with a new cone.. This will be the last time I go to this Dairy Queen--there is another other choices...
