Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Eugene

We came in at about 8pm and got two sandwiches, food was what we expected from J-Mikes (felt like less sauce than usual though) but the lobby was disgusting- food all over the ground, food on the tables, looked like the floor hadn't been swept all day. Slightly ironically, less than 1 second after I paid for my food, someone I believe was the manager walked up to the cashier and told him, "by the way, you missed a tray" or something along those lines, then he said bye to everyone and left. How can you be a restaurant manager and notice the filth all over the lobby and focus on criticizing an employee on prep instead of cleanliness? If the lobby is THAT dirty, imagine how the kitchen looks.... buy a broom bro! And work on your priorities. Don't be in such a hurry to leave your employees and look at what guests see. Service from the crew was good. Just wish they had a manager that encouraged...

Came in around 1pm last Thursday and it was packed. Duh, it's still the lunch rush. The lady behind me kept complaining to me because she didn't understand why it was so busy and the bread will be "dried out by the time we get it". I gently told her because it's lunch. She tried to argue w/me that it's not. The family in front on me complained relentlessly that the "girl needs to get off her phone and help people" Mind you, this was the manager, on a conf call, while also slinging bread, meat, cheese and taking orders down the line. I was in my very own "complaint sandwich". This is a reminder that the people behind the counter are, in fact, people. This is a new location and there might be some kinks, plus to anyone around the area, a new place to snag lunch. So yeah, they'll be busy. Generally pretty solid, although the service can be spotty. I've asked for certain toppings to be included, like the pepper relish, but when they put barely on, my pleas to add more go unheard and unnoticed. He just proceeded along. First he started adding a topping I didn't ask for and then didn't put a reasonable amount of the one I did want on the sandwich (i.e., it only covered half the sandwich). Then I wanted to add a bag of chips and the cashier was about to charge me for a drink I didn't ask for. They could all pay more attention to the customer's wishes.

Also, the air curtain above the door is broken so anytime someone enters or leaves it emits a VERY loud grinding and screeching sound. It's incredibly unpleasant to eat in there right now. Would recommend going elsewhere to eat...
