Saigon Cafe — Restaurant in Eugene

Haven't had good Vietnamese food in Eugene until I ate here. Was genuinely impressed with how authentic the food tastes. We've wanted to try this place for a while but since it's rather west of Eugene, it's taken us a while to go this direction. We were not disappointed! One of the best Lemongrass tofu banh mi! We had banh mi ($6), pho ($9), and vermicelli bowls ($9) They have a great section of Vegan items and and I was impressed that they served the veggie vermicelli with soy sauce rather than the traditional fish sauce (that is, staying true to keeping the dish vegan). Best phó in town, hands down. As I haven't ever traveled to Vietnam, or have had any vietnamese friends, so I can't speak to how authentic they are. But I have been to several of the phó places in town including the Vietnamese Market, and they put the most flavor into their dishes. Love their spring rolls, bbq ribs, and I hear their pan fried rice is also top notch. You can't go wrong going here. I'm always ordering the salad rolls. I'm a bit of a salad roll obsessed. As a result, I've become quite a critic after sampling the ones that many places have to offer. They are simply the best. It's a simple, inexpensive and quick bit to eat so most places just slap it together without thinking of the flavor combinations. They care about their food.
