Amended 9/26/19 I come to this bagel place every morning that I am in West Eugene and I take my family there on weekends sometimes. Every time I would get the same thing; a carried away bagel, toasted with plain cream cheese, onion and tomato. For cream cheese it's $1.40, for onion .50 and for tomato .50 + the price of the bagel. It would come to $3.55. I would usually get a coffee as well making it around $5. Today I ordered my usual and the woman behind the counter didn't ask me if I was a rewards member and rang me up for a veggie bagel sandwich which comes with 2 extra vegetables. The total was $6.99. I politely told her no that is not rung up the right way and she proceeded to tell me that every other person that has rung me up over the past year or more has been doing it wrong and she is doing it right.
I don't know how it makes sense to charge someone extra money for vegetables they aren't ordering. They already charge .50 for a slice of onion and .50 for 2 slices of tomato. I had no time to argue because I was on my way to work, but needless to say I will never bring my business to this bagel place again. I have referred a half a dozen people there and I will never recommend this place to anyone again either. They make good bagels, but their workers are rude, uncaring and will try to ring you up wrong and then argue with you when you try to correct them.
The time before this I was told they'd have to charge me an extra dollar if I want it open face because they put extra vegetables on it. I ordered sandwich style so I would not be charged a whole dollar for 2 more slices of tomato and 1 more slice of onion. I gave the dollar in tip instead.
I am extremely sad, disappointed and this business owner should know they've lost a loyal, long time, regular customer over this.
Price: $ | Ambiance: Quiet | Accessibility: Good | Parking: Free parking lot These New York style bagels are boiled and their consistency is denser while still retaining a soft and chewy texture. Their bagel topping selections come in a variety and my favorite is the carried away bagel, which is an everything bagel on top and bottom. They have fresh squeezed orange juice, you can get your bagel with a variety of cream cheeses, open face, or sandwich style. They also have a coffee bar. Their dining area is cool, has tables chairs and bench seating, and is wheelchair accessible, as well as outdoor seating. I come here often and they...
Read moreAlthough their food is delicious, the customer service at bagel sphere w11th is some of the worst I have ever encountered. I have been coming here and recommending this location for about 5 years and recently the employees behind the counter are more concerned with their personal lives and conversations than taking orders and getting them finished in a timely manner. I will no longer be spending my money here or recommending anyone I know come here to spend theirs either. Two times within the last week I have made single item call-in/pick-up orders with ample time to have them ready upon my arrival. Neither of these orders were started until I arrived and made known that the pick-up was waiting in the lobby. Luckily the first time I had time to wait on my way to work and actually watched them start the order I called in 10 minutes prior. This morning there were 3 people working the front however, I called in an order and the female on the phone apparently didn't write my order down at all because when I arrived she said, "ask her what she got again, I forgot what she ordered..." I walked out and will never...
Read moreI've been a cook. I'm no stranger to the service industry. I know that you NEVER roll your eyes at a customer who gets a text from his co-workers, asking to make more orders. I was in there earlier today, Sunday, Feb 25th, ordered a lox on an everything bagel, and the young man on shift was visibly annoyed when I relayed two more orders crom other co-workers. I can see how that could be annoying, as an employee but there was NOBODY ELSE PRESENT. He had just served the previous customer, when his female co-worker arrived, and delivered an equally sassy eye-roll once he relayed to her that I had added two more orders. She literally rolled her fuing eyes. Yeah I still tipped you little a-holes three bucks on an $15 ticket. That's the LAST time I expect someone to make me a bagel that I can make better, myself. Note: it doesn't take 10 minutes to put cream fuing cheese on a toasted...
