Oh. My. GOD. This place is heaven on Earth. Was visiting Eugene for a mini vacation and we were slowly eating our way across the city. After a delicious dinner at the Bierstien (which you should definitely check out as well), we decided to sate our sweet tooth before rolling back to the Airbnb. Boyfriend wanted ice cream, I wanted chocolate baked something, so we found this spot, which has a Prince Puckler's right next door. Perfect! We walk in and the smells! Oh sweet Buddha the smells! We placed cappuccino orders while we oogled the case. So many choices! Cakes and pies and puff pastries and brownies, quiches and cookies, even homemade marshmallows! I settled on an eclair, he ordered a Josephine, and we scurried outside to indulge our inner fat kid. Everything was sublime. The coffee was incredible, the eclair was generous in size and had the most perfect thick coating of dark chocolate ganache on top. I stole some of his berry topping that accompanied his josephine and found myself on Cloud nine. And the best part! They had SO many options for people who have dietary restrictions. I brought home a case of goodies for my mom, who cannot have eggs, dairy, or gluten, and never gets to eat gourmet baked goods. 10/10, would...
Read moreSweet Life Petite is a charming bakery in Eugene that offers an enchanting array of pastries and chocolates, along with a variety of delightful beverages like coffee, lattes, and matcha. The cozy atmosphere and delightful scents set the perfect stage for a sweet treat.
During my visit, I indulged in a few of their standout items. The Cherry Almond Pie featured a delightfully crispy crust that encased the sweet, tart filling perfectly. Although the honey fig petit four was a bit too sweet for my taste, the flavor was undoubtedly delicious and crafted with care. However, the star of the show was the Josephine, a puffed pastry filled with a delightful custard and elegantly topped with a raspberry purée—simply irresistible!
To accompany my desserts, I chose a cinnamon latte, which proved to be the perfect complement to the meal. The warm, spicy notes of the latte enhanced the sweet flavors of the pastries, rounding out the experience wonderfully.

Read moreMy New Years resolution of eating more pie was going well, 2 whole pies a month for 6 months, then when out of my regular choices I was recommended the "blueberry lavender ". The pie was not good. We tried to eat it a couple different times thinking it might be us, we couldn't finish it. We quit buying pie for awhile due to our disappointment. When I contacted the management about a discount on my next pie they refused, they said that since I didn't bring the pie back that they had no way of knowing if they had made a mistake? I never knew that returning used pastries was a thing. It's called Sweet Life, not Bitter Life. Next time offer a olive branch to the customer and admit your mistake. Plenty of other options in Eugene, I make pretty good...
