I came to Eugene for the Mon Rovîa concert mid-week (10/1/25) and Googled hotels close to the venue (WOW Hall) that were reasonable in price and had good reviews and it was easy to find, especially for someone from out-of-town.
I was very happy with my choice! Right from check-in, where Tamara really made me feel like a valued customer, where she and I chatted about my plans, and our pets (I wasn't traveling with my cat this time as I was only in town for 1 night, but they are pet-friendly, I forgot to ask it that included cats, too as some hotels are only dog-friendly) and you could tell she enjoyed her job and attending training conferences and working there, too.
I stayed in Room 201, upstairs in the same building as the lobby, was quiet and accessed up an outdoor but covered staircase, and parked my car (free parking) in front of my room so it felt safe also as there are cameras.
My room was clean as was the bathroom, the towels thick and absorbent and the bedding clean and crisp. The showered was ok for me, I'm 5'5" but for someone tall maybe expecting a 'waterfall' type shower head, might be a negative. As I was only staying one night, I didn't bring my own soap/shampoo or conditioner, and their Paul Mitchell product were enough for one use for sure. I'm sure I could have asked for additional if I'd stayed longer. I brought my own pillow so can't attest to the comfort of theirs, and the comforter was just right for the season.
The AC/heat unit was quiet and worked as desired. It was nice that the room had a microwave and mini fridge too, as I brought my own meals and beverages to save money. It was nice to see they had local beer and ciders available though.
I know that the 'vintage feel' Edison lightbulbs are popular right now, but the lamp at the desk didn't provide much light but was harsh and glaring to me. I might have to add my preferred lightbulb to my suitcase as I have run into this at other hotels, too.
The decor was nice and very PNW, as were the murals and decor of the rest of the hotel, including the patio and fire pit area. I didn't check out until after the breakfast time, but was able to grab a couple of cinnamon buns and an apple for the drive home and both were fresh and delicious. The breakfast area was clean and inviting
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Maverick Hotel and would stay...

Read moreWe traveled by train to Eugene to spend the weekend with our son and his wife to celebrate his birthday. We were checked in by a friendly efficient young gentleman who offered us freshly made cookies and even offered milk! Our lovely room on the 3rd floor of a separate building was like 2 suites in one with a very comfortable king-sized bed topped off with wonderful fluffy pillows. The clock on the attached bedside table with USB charging outlets is made for a convenient cell telephone location. We appreciated the Keurig coffeemaker, the microwave, and the mini-fridge. Other furnishings in this room included a wonderful desk site with a pull-out table for additional working space, a desk chair, and 2 comfy occasional chairs. Completing this part of the room was a large dresser topped off with a 40"digital TV with a remote. The other "suite" was the bathroom which needed its own zip code! Entering this room you notice the large double sink area that has lighted mirrors. Then, to your left, you open the door to discover a huge spa tub on one side and a shower on the other. Straight ahead is the toilet which had its own door for added privacy within the whole bathroom. Topping off your experience is a great complimentary breakfast sourced from local businesses. The Maverick is conveniently located across the street from the Phil Knight Arena and within walking distance Autzen Stadium and U of O. I will definitely stay here again. The only thing missing was a luggage holder in the entryway's spacious closet which I'm sure will happen as they continue to finish up the...
