I don’t understand what’s going on. I was in the store today and noticed a full grown middle aged white guy in the store with baggy pants a grey hoodie and a gold chain and realized I was seeing him wherever I went. I was literally alone in this store trying to find tissue paper and I look behind me and this man is peering over the aisles poking his head in and out staring at me. This literally gave me chills up my body so I go tell the cashier CLAIRE, that was working. She responds “it’s our lost protection service” without even looking at me, i am obviously frightened as well. This man had NO uniform at all nothing that alluded to him being an employee. WHY are you having middle aged men in normal clothes following around young women who are alone at your store? I understand if you’re trying to prevent shoplifting but you don’t need to do it in a way where I’m literally preparing myself to be abducted.
2/5/23 I see your response and I understand yet there is not enough accountability taken on your part as a store owner. You hire these people, you choose what clothes they will wear and you are aware of how the customers respond because I PERSONALLY went up to tell the cashier I was uncomfortable. I personally do not care bout target and nike losing profit due to stealing, they have the money to cover it. Maybe instead of hiring grown homeless looking men to follow women around in your store you should use the money to buy security cameras. yes, it DOES sound like your staff needs more training. I rather have a man in a fake security costume following me around a store than a man who looks like he has a van parked outside waiting for me. And I actually rather walk an hour and a half to the closest target instead of feeling the way that man made me feel when I saw him peer around the corner staring at...
Read moreWent to this location to pick up a prescription, looked around before and after I picked it up. I put the prescription in my bag, but was still holding the item in my hand after. Picked another thing up, but decided I didn’t need it and put it back. Throughout this time I kept seeing this creepy middle aged man stare at me for long periods of time. He was in normal clothes and wasn’t holding any items from the store. I ran into him about 4 times throughout my 15 min there. I was going to checkout w the item I was still holding, but he was standing near the checkout/exit. Worried he was going to follow me to my car, I went into a different aisle and put the notebook down and walked out of the store. Went into Market of Choice and after 5 min of shopping there, he and another employee came up to me and accused me of stealing. I showed them everything in my bag and they said they trusted me and left. I understand there is a lot of theft happening, but I don’t think it’s a smart idea to have middle aged creepy looking men following and staring at 20 year old girls and then following them out of the next store. If they had checked the cameras properly, like they said they did, they would’ve seen me put back both items I had. I went through lots of different aisles and left the store quickly to avoid under the impression he was following me, not because I was stealing. If you’re going to have people watch for stealing, choose a better demographic or have them wear Hirons apparel, one that won’t make people afraid to be in your store or walk out to their car, especially young women...
Read moreThey stopped me after I had bought my items and accused me of stealing something from the makeup section. They said they had watched me put something up my sleeve on the camera and when I told them I didn’t they still kept pushing it. It was a concealer that I had put under my arm for a bit so my hands were free to still look around THAT SAME EXACT SECTION, and I ended up putting it back right where I got it because I didn’t really need it. So without any questions asked I took off my bag and jacket and showed them that I don’t have anything. I’m also wearing a fitted long sleeve so they could easily see if something was under it poking through. I even tried to hand the guy my bag for him to search but he said that it was okay and that he believed me, but I still showed him every single compartment of my bag. The only makeup product in there was my own lip gloss. If they saw me “put it up my sleeve” then they would’ve also seen me put it right back. Also if I were to actually steal that concealer then you would think I would also steal the gloves and squishy I had BOUGHT. Thanks cashier lady and secret shopper man, I hope you guys feel good about that....
