Toxic Burger — Restaurant in Eugene

Cool little joint on River Rd. Always love finding new places that pop up in the Eugene/Springfield area. I recommend the Chili Cheeseburger Double; if a burger beckons your name, with a basket of their Sweet Potato Fries pf course. You have an option to order for there or order to take your food home with you. Toxic Wings are known for their homemade wings and their different varieties of house sauces which are all kinds of deliciousness. They are in expensive for people looking to keep the cost of eating out down, but want some local flair at a fair price. Basically, you CAN eat at Carl's Jr. But why would you do a thing like that when Toxic Wings is so much better. They have an outside area as well allow you to soak up the sun while you eat. Toxic Wings also does catering, so if you have any kind of a party for whatever the occasion you are able to do that as well. The establishment is small though about akin to the size of a burrito boy, so don't expect to bring the whole family. But don't let that stop you because if you're like me and live in the Santa Clara/River Rd. area of Eugene your options for eating are substantially limited. I mean, Santa Clara has some restuarants down river road as you are heading toward Chambers, but really you either got pizza, Carl's Jr, Arby's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Hawaiin Time, the Mongolian Grill, maybe Twin Dragons, but I don't recommend them. I wish I could rate the food. I went there to check it out for the first time. Unknowingly, I arrived about 10 minutes before closing time. (They close early, at 8.)

I was meeting a friend there so sat down at a table outside to wait for them. Another table had just sat down with some food and the waitress came out and talked to them 2 or 3 times but completely ignored me. I asked if they had wi-fi and she politely said they didn't and then walked away.

When my friend arrived, we chatted for a few minutes and then went inside to order. Before we could even get in the door the same waitress said, "Sorry, we're closed." She was sweeping and clearly in a hurry to get out of there.

It was then that I saw the (very small) sign on the door that said they closed at 8. I very much understand the desire to leave work on time and I wouldn't knowingly order food at the last minute like that anyway.

I just don't appreciate being ignored and left to sit there so that when I did come in it was officially past closing and she could turn me away. She could have said something when I first sat down and saved us the time and disappointment.

*GLUTEN FREE BUNS!!! *GRASS FED BEEF!!! Incredible fast food still burgers!!! I'm reviewing the Burgers only. I was super excited to find out they had gluten free buns so I stopped in for a burger. The service was great! I was able to CHOOSE how well cooked I wanted my burger and I chose medium rare. As requested my burger had a little pink in the middle, yum!!! That's a serious detail that most burger places would rather skip. The place is fun and there's tons of options and flavors and sauces! At home I eat almost entirely GRASS FED beef and so I'm super excited to be able to get it at a burger place!!! It also helps justify the price which is the ONLY reason I gave 4 Stars instead of 5. I'm sure it's EXTRA for the GLUTEN FREE bun which I'd expected but i think the burgers are made to kind of replicate classic fast food so the burgers are rather smallish. My single burger came out to over $7 and I could have easily eaten two... Even three of I were in the mood to stuff myself. That's the only catch for me, and what makes this place the occasional treat only. It seemed a little spendy but I guess... Quality food is expensive these days.
