I have tried numerous times to give this store a chance to show that they can do better. I write this review as a former Sonic employee that worked at 2 other locations in DFW, both under different franchisees. The staff at this location are so SLOW. On multiple occasions we have pulled into a basically empty lot with 3 other cars in sight, and we have had to wait 20-30 minutes for someone to answer the board. It wouldn't be so bad if they were slow and the food and drinks came out good, but they miss the mark on that one too. Staff is poorly trained and has a lackadaisical approach to customer service. Sonic's motto is "Service at the Speed of Sound" and is supposed to be "America's Drive-In" operating with a focus on providing tasty food in a fun and efficient way. I have yet to have that experience at this location. When ordering a child slush we requested "light syrup", but they added so much it was pooling and dripping all down the side of the cup... which staff should know the syrups have a tendency to stain everything they touch. It seems that they take no pride in making their food, drinks or ice cream items. Everything is sloppily thrown together, missing stuff or has things that were requested to be removed. What happened to "Do it right, do it right now"? I am grateful for staff that Sonic has incorporated the option to tip on a card, but it really stinks that you have to give that tip BEFORE you see what kind of service you get... Do...
Read moreI went after work for dinner. I really wanted a rout 44 Rootbeer. I saw they had a sign for a sausage burrito for 1.50 and ordered it. I asked for my drink and looked on the screen when the man that took the order asked if there was anything else. I told him the burrito was wrong that it was suppose to be for 1.50 and he had almost 3.00 for it. He said he would correct it and I told him no cheese. He got that right. I looked on the menu and he had the drink wrong and I advised him of this and he repeated the order. It was still incorrect on the screen but he repeated the order back to me and turned the mic. Off to place my order. Once the order came out it was the wrong drink and the burrito was being charged at the regular rate and not at the sale rate. And I was being charged the full amount. I advised the car hope that brought me my order and she was. Calm down, it's ok we can fix it and asked for the burrito back. This was the worst service ever. And it was only me and 3 other cars and when I left it was just me there so it was not like they were busy that they could not take the order correctly. Root beer does not sound like Dr. pepper and the burrito what was up with them charging the full amount and not the sale amount. Why did she have to take the food back? Read moreI do not recommend going to this Sonic. I had an issue with them a few days ago and I just let it go since it was busy. 1st Time: We preordered on the sonic app as usual then put in our stall number when we got there. We saw the screen say that the drinks were being prepared and someone was going to come out with it. We waited for 3 drinks. Waited 30 mins for 3 drinks! People that had pulled up to the stall and ordered right ten got their food before us. So after first waiting 15 mins we ordered some food since we were waiting anyways and that took another 15 mins.
Even after all of that we decided to come back because it is literally up the street from us. Today they ran out of ice cream and took forever on our drinks again. And get this they aren’t like milk shakes or anything special literally a cherry limeade slush. After having having us wait about 5-10 mins they finally came out to tell us they were out of ice cream for one drink.This is not The way to run a business they need new management or the management needs to crack down before people stop going all together.
I don’t know if the employee Vanessa is the manager but she needs to be retrained on how to run a shift. In the mean time until they get their business in order we will be going...
