2021-11: I have eaten from here twice recently and wanted to update my previous review. One instance was dinner ordered through Uber Eats and was delicious, albeit more pricey than going to dine in or picking up my own call in order, which is to be expected when using third party delivery services.
My most recent experience was calling in my order directly to the store. They have an automated system for placing your order, but if you chose the option for needing some help, you are instantly connected with a live employee at the restaurant.
They young lady who took my order was incredibly nice and professional. She took my order of two Italian sandwich meals, repeating back my order , their sides, the total amount, and a timeframe of when the order would be ready. I was right down the road and ended up walking in only about 10 minutes after placing my order, which was ready, ahead of the 15-20 minute window I was given on the phone. The young man who took my payment was pleasant and checked the order before finishing the transaction. The restaurant was clean and in order, even with them being fairly busy.
I'm glad to see some consistency in this McAllister's with service, cleanliness, and quality of food. Took my previous 4 stars up to 5 for this reason. I would still recommend this location and will continue to be a customer here.
2019: Went in late afternoon Friday while it was still before the typical dinner rush. The restaurant was clean, the employees were pleasant, and the food was ready quickly. Ordered the special, a prime rib sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. This location fits my typical McAlister's Deli view, decent and not a waste of money.
The only reason for the four stars is because the manager, although not with malice or arrogance, reprimanded an employee in the dining room within earshot of customers. While he handled the situation with professionalism, he should not have done it in the front of the house, or where any customers or employees could hear it.
I would recommend this location to others and will have no issue...
Read moreMcAlister's Deli is an American chain of restaurants founded in 1989 in Oxford, Mississippi, by retired dentist Dr. Don Newcomb. There are currently over 450 locations in 28 states. The original restaurant was started in a renovated gas station, and many of the elements of that original look are present in many McAlister's Delis built today, such as a garage door, and nostalgic black-and-white tile.
At McAlister's, genuine hospitality means always delivering a little something extra. Whether it's a warm greeting when you walk in the door or a refill as you enjoy your meal. Now I love a Reuben sandwich, growing up in a German American household I'm used to eating Sauerkraut all the. The Reuben sandwich is an American grilled sandwich composed of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing, grilled between slices of rye bread. It is associated with kosher-style delicatessens, but it is not kosher, because it combines both meat and cheese in the same meal. The Reuben at McAlister's is phenomenal I have been ordering it ever since we discovered this place and today was no different. They offer a variety of soft drinks, sweet tea, and lemonade. I personally love the lemonade and so does my wife.
So, check out McAlister's Deli and get one of their...
Read moreI'm from the Atlanta area and I eat lunch at McAlisters often and it's always a good experience. I cannot say the same for this location. I'm in the area working hurricane relief. I've had 3 not so good experiences in a row. Let's be honest. This is not the cheapest place to eat so I hold them to a higher standard. My first visit.. Skimpy on the ingredients and WAY undercooked bacon. Second visit... Again WAY undercooked Bacon! Third visit... Guess what? Practically raw bacon! My meal by MYSELF is $24 for a sandwich, cup of soup and a beverage If I can eat at a decent steakhouse for that price, it's fair to say that I can expect better from them. I still think McAlisters is a great place to eat compared to most options. I just think it's fair to expect my bacon cooked. Maybe I would just suggest to ask for well done bacon. I certainly will IF I...
