UPDATE: my response back to management first off is to CORRECT YOUR MENU
Don't expect to pay what the menu says you should. Shady Business, Shady Management
i wish i had followed my own advice from a similar incident with management 4 years ago where i swore off ever returning to the Evans Salsa's location. Lesson learned, WILL NOT BE BACK AGAIN
My wife and both ordered Fajita Quesadillas last night. Menu price says 12.95 with the following description
"A large flour tortilla filled with your CHOICE OF MEAT and cheese with Fajita Vegetables (onions, tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, & bell peppers) served with rice, beans and guacamole salad"
For anyone that has ever ordered fajitas you already know that "choice of meat" means either grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, or some sort of combo of the 3, with an expected upcharge for mixed or with shrimp. Apparently Salsa's management at this location has different unpublished definitions of what choice of meat actually is in fajitas. They expect you to accept shredded chicken or ground beef at this price and if you order as expected with the grilled meats they are going to charge you $2 for each on top of the 12.95 price (which is not documented as the description shows, nor do wait staff inform you of this, and also which would be too expensive for shredded chicken or ground beef). When i questioned this the bald headed, mustached manager wanted me to look at the computer and the prices there instead of honoring their own menu prices. That is not acceptable business practices whatsoever. If that is how you want to do business just put a kiosk up when you walk in and treat it like a fast food place instead of giving menus with erroneous information on them since the computer is apparently the only place we can see correct pricing
To make matters even worse, if you try and order this online as a take out option, the base price of this dish is now $13.45 instead of $12.95 with the same description
and fyi my final price on this meal with steak/chicken combo was $16.95. My wifes who only had chicken with pineapple added somehow became $17.95 ($3 for a few diced pineapples, $2 for grilled chicken??). Figure that out. The crazy part of this is that i don't even have an issue with the price, only an issue with the lack of extra charges that aren't noted on the menu and managements lack of understanding or willingness to even correct THEIR ISSUE.
do yourselves a favor and head down the street to monterrey, poblanos, or even Senor Mezcal instead of here. They don't play these shady, BS games, and the food is just as good if not better.
FYI. This is my old review from 4 years ago about this place..
The food is decent but service is terrible. Management is even worse. I ordered the carne con salsa with pork carnitas. What was delivered was with shredded chicken. We had to hunt our waitress down as she never came back to the table. When we did the issues escalated. Our waitress engaged a tall loudmouthed woman manager (didnt see a name tag or I would share) who then proceeded to argue with me that what I had was pork and not chicken. Fyi. I had to point out the chicken bone on the plate even though I can immediately tell the difference from shredded chicken and pork by taste and I have had this dish quite a few times . They made another plate and she said she had the cook leave bigger chunks (this is how it normally is) to prove to me it was pork even though she still loudly insisted the first plate was pork. In between all of this she was also combative with staff in front and in the kitchen arguing loudly where all customers could hear.
I cannot recommend anyone eating at this Salsa's anymore. Based on the number of customers on what traditionally was a busy night they seem to feel the same. Go to Monterrey or Poblanos if in Evan's instead. Staff is always friendly and they will correct any mistakes without the customer dealing with this sort of crap. We will not be...

Wasn't that busy. Took the waiter about 5 mins to come to get our drinks. They have a large menu alot to chose from. There were 2 big table with 7 people sitting at them and 1 other small table besides us. He for some reason took all of orders at the same time. My g-ma wasn't hungry so they let her order from the kids menu. And I ordered from the regular menu. IT TOOK AT LEAST 45 MINS. TO GET OUR FOOD. This is at 12 oclock when it wasn't busy.. The salsa was ok it was kinda watery. The kids meal the hamburger meat wasn't drained and she said it was salty. The beans were ok tasted a spoon full of those. Can't speak to the rice didn't try it.. On my plate there not even a full scoop of hamburger meat on the tortilla. And it WASNT drained. The vegetables in the burrito had NO-ZERO salt, pepper, any kind of seasoning on it. It was just straight watery veggies cut, cooked a little and wet small amount of hamburger meat. The tortilla wasn't even warmed. It was cold and like raw tasting. (Which you cant do when it comes straight out the package ๐ ) just how it tasted. ๐คทโโ๏ธ the guacamole was ok. Had to use all the sour cream and guacamole to give the food some taste. It was not good and it was 10.99 ๐ the sweet tea that I had tasted like it had barely any sugar in it. We won't return. It was a very big let down. We came in thinking that it wasn't busy and we could get quicker food then going to Goolsbe's. We were very wrong and how could you mess up hamburger meat? We were also wrong about...

The waitresses were sitting back in the bar area playing on their phones chatting to each other and ignoring the customers that were in there. After I was seated sat there about 15 minutes someone finally came and took our drink order. Never refilled our drinks again the entire time we were there. Ordered the food sat there almost a hour. They brought us a very watered down cheese dip. Never got any salsa to dip in. They forgot to bring it . Finally the bell started banging very loudly and the robot brought the food out. The waitress said to hold on a minute and went off somewhere else. Finally 10 minutes later she came and got the food off the robot and put semi cold food on the table. Waited another 30 minutes for the check. Food was great but the service here leaves a lot to be desired for. Our waitress was rude and unprofessional. Asked for a manager and she said the manager was not there at the time. I used to love to come here because it was quick and good. I never came here to have a fancy 5 course sit down 3-5 hour meal. I spent almost 2 hours here for what was supposed to be a relatively quick meal and turned into a lengthy disaster. Please do better next time Salsaโs. Train your waitresses better in customer service. How you treat people in customer service affects...
