Panera Bread — Restaurant in Evansville

Today is 10/23/22...FOUR years since my last review. I AM SO DONE WITH PANERA. Tonight, I ordered a Caesar salad WITHOUT chicken and without croutons. It was the REGULAR PRICE as one WITH chicken at $7.99! HOW is that right??? And when I went to the ordering counter to ask about the price thinking we were mistakenly overcharged, TWO employees were talking with one another, CONTINUED their conversation while another couple behind me and I WAITED ON THEM TO FINISH THEIR CONVERSATION...and WAITED...and WAITED!!! If my husband didn't like the broccoli cheddar soup and Fuji salad so much, I would NEVER enter there again. Oh well....I guess this is the "for better or for worse" part I vowed to honor. But I don't have to eat there. I will sit with him and find my meal somewhere else. GOOD-BYE, PANERA.

If only the cleanliness of the store and the work ethic of the employees were as good as the food! Food on the floor EACH TIME we visit! Always have to inform the staff they are out of lemons. Consistently, with a line to the door, only one cashier working during peak hours. Trash seldom emptied so must be stacked on top. (WHY do the patrons have to clean their tables, anyway?) Usually very cool temp inside to where folks of all ages bring a jacket with them! If my husband did not like the broccoli cheddar soup so much, we would NEVER return. At our most recent visit, he admitted it's not worth it, either. Poor management. Poor...

This was actually my first time going to Panera Bread! I ordered A Chicken Green Goddess Caprese Melt, My mom ordered a Grilled Cheese and I got a free Chocolate Croissant for signing up for the Panera Bread App, and Mom got a Pecan Braid! We got our order to go!! Well I get home (which is 20 miles away) open my sandwich and there was absolutely NO chicken on it!!! I was NOT happy! So I called and they were super nice about everything and put my name on the customer Log to get a free Entire on my next visit! So I did appreciate how they handled the mistake! The Chocolate Croissant was delicious anyways!! And even without the chicken the sandwich had a lot of flavor! The only issue I didn't care for was the bread was SO hard!! I think next time I will ask if I can get it on chibatta bread instead! So can't wait to try it WITH the chicken!! Due to being in Kidney Failure I eat "clean" food which is just w/o any preservatives or any antibiotics. So I do appreciate having a fast food place to eat that offers this type of food choices! Even with the mistake I will definitely go back! They just need to pay more attention to detail when making the sandwiches and I will definitely check my sandwich B4 making that drive back home!! This used to almost be a second home for us, but I’ve had a terrible time the last few times (I will gladly change my review if things start to improve again). 25 mins to “swing in” and get decaf, because the company refuses to maintain a small amount even on a busy Friday or Saturday, but they will brew it for us after you wait in line for 15 mins. We even tried calling ahead of time and no one picked up after letting it ring for 3 mins. Ordering with the app hasn’t had better luck. Went back with a friend and ordered a regular coffee and bagel from the table on the app (thinking I might save time and have better luck), 20 mins later asked about it and they said they missed seeing my order. No apologies, didn’t even offer to upgrade my coffee from a small... I worked customer service for 6 years, so I really do try to be understanding. Had a couple more situations like this in the last few months and finally decided to never go back. Honestly, it’s a few of the employees (Elizabeth who has been there since the beginning is AMAZING and deserves a hundred stars), that have even made this a 3 star review.
