Restaurant/Bar Review: Samuel's - A Hidden Gem of Exceptional Service, Food, and Bar Staff
Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering a hidden gem in Evansville Indiana - Samuel's, a restaurant and bar that left an indelible impression on me. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with exceptional service, delectable food, and a bar staff that went above and beyond to ensure an unforgettable experience.
The service at Samuel's was truly outstanding. The bartenders/waitresses were great fun and incredibly accommodating I had a brilliant time chatting away to them at the bar
The food at Samuel's was nothing short of exceptional. I have been to Samuel's twice now and both times the burgers and fries have been out of this world, I would go as far to say the peanut butter smash burger was the best burger I've ever had.
The bar staff at Samuel's deserves a special mention for their expertise and creativity. The bartenders were not only skilled in crafting classic cocktails but also in inventing innovative and unique concoctions. Their extensive knowledge of spirits and mixology was evident in every drink they prepared. They were attentive to individual preferences and provided personalized recommendations based on my taste preferences. The bar staff's enthusiasm and passion for their craft added an extra layer of excitement to my experience at Samuel's.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Samuel's is its affordability. Despite its exceptional service, food quality, and ambiance, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. It is rare to find a place that offers such a high caliber of service and cuisine without breaking the bank. Samuel's provides an excellent value for the overall experience it delivers.
In conclusion, Samuel's is an extraordinary restaurant and bar that truly stands out as a hidden gem. The exceptional service, delectable food, and talented bar staff combine to create an unforgettable experience for guests. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the reasonable prices, make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable dining and drinking experience. I highly recommend Samuel's to anyone in search of a place that exceeds expectations in every...
Read moreHere's what I was very disappointed in was we were not notified by our waitress that they took cash and venmo only. After we had a wonderful meal, drinks we went to pay our bill. It was well over $200.00 for 4 people. We had several drinks and were a ladies' night out. All 60 years to 84 years old, going to see Brett Young at The Victory Theater. At this time, she says they don't accept cash. If they had informed us, we would have gotten up and found another restaurant. We were having an excellent time until this happened. So we offered to come back down to pay her the next day she was open. She refused. Said we needed to go to ATM. So me and another lady and I got up to go to the ATM. We left a drink that cost $12.00 and said we'd be back. When we got back, they were cleaning off our table, and we asked for our $12.00. They wouldn't remake it and refused to take it off. We still tried to pay, and they said they wouldn't take our money. The business and money plus what our waitress lost in a tip was certainly a large amount. I couldn't believe the way we were treated by these people. They said a sign wad on the door. We all walk in, laughing and having such a good time. The waitress told the manager she informed us that it was cash only. She did not.. and the sign on the door was a tiny paper sign. We did not see it. So I do not recommend anyone going here because it is a very poor run establishment. Everything was wonderful until we went to pay. They told us we wouldn't be able to use our credit cards at the Victory either because of the storms we had. Said it knocked out all the internet service downtown. That was a lie. We used our credit cards at The Victory Theater. I will never go back to this place again. Treated 4 older ladies like a bunch of bums. We always tip at least 20% and mostly more for great service. Ask a waiter we know at another restaurant we visit often. Most of the time, he gets at least 50% or more tips. You all just lost a good returning...
Read moreWent here for a weekday lunch on a recommendation. It's a very cozy downtown spot and seating (especially outdoors) is limited. Probably would not recommend for large (5/6) groups. Also, it is a 21+ establishment so leave your young ones at home.
The inside decor is modern and clean, and it would work great for a casual dinner date as well. Service is prompt and the menu is streamlined and efficient. They pretty much stick to about 10 to 15 items, and since burgers, sandwiches, and salads are pretty stock standard it's not particularly adventurous. Those with dietary requirements might be better served elsewhere, but your mileage may vary. We stuck with the basics, and the hamburger was the star of the show. It is a well-crafted smash burger with their selected fixings, and unless you truly hate onions or pickles, I really think it ties it all together perfectly. Although they didn't ask, my hamburger was definitely cooked but pink in the middle. While this increases the juiciness, if you're turned off to anything except grey beef you might need to specify. The fries are unique and very crispy, and the brussel sprouts were deliciously roasted and tossed in a creamy sauce. Although we didn't partake, they have a few beers on tap with a moderately stocked bar.
I would say it is on the slightly expensive side for a hamburger and fries, but it doesn't cost that much more than a fast food combo and the quality is fantastic. It's a nice little addition to the downtown food scene and I look forward to...
