I had to tell you how my experience was after being encouraged by everyone who hears what happened at the brunch. My son, made reservations for 4 for 11:15. When seated next to the hostess stand, the music was so loud, i honestly could not hear anyone speak at my table. I asked multiple times to be turned down. I suppose the staff could not hear me. The mimosas were so warm, and if any alcohol in them, I would be stunned. I asked for a refill on mimosas for my son and I. The waitress set about 5 dirty dishes next to my left arm she had just cleared from another guests table. She went and got my son a mimosa but not me. She waited on other tables before finally returning to pick up the dirty dishes she laid beside me on our table from another guests table. I was asked if I wanted a refill on coffee, which was nearly completely empty and said yes, I am so thirsty, waiting for a mimosa, she topped off my husbands coffee which was nearly full but never gave me a drop. By this time, so many other things had gone wrong, my son and I were just laughing about the continued comedy of errors. My sons fiancé got called into surgery and arrived late and a drink was spilled making room for her when stacking all the dirty dishes. We all handed him our napkins to clean up the spill but not enough. My husband, went to ask someone but was given a white towel and told he could clean up the mess. And, my son paid $300 with a tip for this service and I’m far from done. I will never ask him to take me anywhere again after this. $300 is ridiculous for the service we were given. I have not even told you how horrible the food was. I can’t say anything good about anything we tried. The salmon was so fishy, the chicken was like rubber, the turkey was so dry it was inedible, the sirloin was so tough my dogs canines I don’t think could have chewed it. The mashed potatoes tasted like a boiled potato mashed with no butter no milk no nothing. I could continue but, I’m sure this is absolutely a waste of my time. And, the desserts, you advertised chocolate covered strawberries, pastries, etc and I seen them when I arrived but when we went back for dessert, it was gone. A couple of brownies, pecan pie. It was never replenished. Mother’s Day is supposed to be a good day for moms. I felt horrible. Asking my son to bring me to this brunch that cost him $300 and it was such a bad experience. I’m sure it will be my last. I still feel Bad about it. I truly think you should go out of the brunch buffet business. It was...
Read moreI came to this restaurant with my mother for dinner, and we unfortunately had an underwhelming experience. Aesthetically beautiful, the hotel presents an inviting atmosphere. This Doubletree is lovely without doubt. However, I can’t say the same about the food at its Stone City Grill. We started off on the wrong foot because we split an order of bacon wrapped scallops. The bacon was burned to a crisp on the ends and the middle portion was completely uncooked fat. Worse, the scallops themselves were cold on the inside! This was a shocking and unpleasant experience, and it should never happen in any restaurant. Next came the Indiana Corn Salad; this array of mixed greens and assorted vegetables was overwhelming in its quantity, perhaps typical of Midwest cuisine preferences. In fact, it was so tall and wide, that it completely enveloped the plate. This made for a very poor presentation and simply too much food that was difficult to manage. The accompanying dressing came on the side by request, and it was barely enough to cover 10% of the salad. The corn, an Indiana staple of pride, was not even separated into kernels. In other words, it was a grid of corn kernels, shaved from the cob, that had simply been tossed on the plate. The sheer amount of spinach and lettuce was so disproportionate to the rest of the ingredients that it was overwhelming. The entire look of this salad was one of thoughtless and hurried process, making for an overall meal of poor quality. I had my remaining 10 pounds of roughage put into a to-go box, but it only made it as far as the bin outside of the lobby. On a positive note, our server was extremely friendly, and she kindly offered to take the appetizer off the bill, as one would at least expect. I am beginning to understand the Indiana playbook for restaurant dining: real friendly folks who serve lots of mediocre...
Read moreWe stayed in Evansville over Thanksgiving, and one of the highlights had to be the wonderful breakfasts we had here! The food was all very delicious and cooked perfectly, but the standout was the wonderful service and kind employees. Everyone was so nice and accomodating. They seemed to really enjoy their jobs and interacting with the customers. Shootouts to Desiree, Holly, Taylor and Elena. Thank you for making our experiences...
