Submitted the text message to advise I was here (at 5:52p). A few minutes later 2 ladies came out with the other person's order, which they were here before us and was to be expected. One of the ladies waved at us as they loaded the other person's car. Some time goes by and I wonder if there is an issue, it was 6:10p. i sent another text letting them know we were here. It was about to turn 6:15pm and I was going to call to inquire if they forgot about us. Then the lady with glasses came out with an order. She walked up to another black car that pulled in about 3 minutes ago. She knocked on the back of the black car. I knew the order was mine because of the 4 boxes of cat litter. My fiancé and I opened the doors to advise the lady we think that the order is ours. The woman in the black said, "thats not mine, and my name is ." The lady with cart order said yes, i have *, and looked down at the order and said, oh no i mean @@@@@. My fiance and I advised that i sent 2 texts, and she said "yeah, if its been longer than 10 minutes you should call". My fiance interjected, "you should be paying attention, we sent 2 texts as instructed. nowhere on the signs does it say if we dont get to you in 10 minutes call. We are also on a time limit" and he got in the car. The lady said "well sorry". I said, well you did see us out here. She said sorry and walked away. This is the second time that i have had the feeling of being forgotten or ignored. I did send 2 messages, and I can screen shot them to you, however you do not have a place for pics. I was about to call as it was becoming an extremely long time. I understand that she is more than likely following a protocol. However, previously when picking up an order, we have pulled in and submitted a text, a guy came out to load up another order, when he finished loading up that order, he then took the time to come to our car and inquire if we have submitted the text as he didn't remember seeing anything before bringing out this current order. I advised him yes. He asked my name and said he would take care of it. A few moments later he had our order out to us. I'm not saying the lady is horrible. What I am saying is that you have 2 totally different types of employees. As a loyal customer, I would prefer to deal with the gentle man every time than the lady that helped us Saturday. She took the time to wave to us, but didn't take the time to acknowledge that she had not gotten a pick up text? She can acknowledge us in the parking lot while loading up another order but not think to follow up on someone sitting in the parking lot. I realize that Evansville as a city is crappy and many times people park there and no NOT use the pick up... as a person that uses pick up, this is frustrating. Maybe she thought we were one of the crappy, rude shoppers, that just park wherever they want regardless of the sign advisement. If I wanted incompetency and lack of care, I would go to Walmart. I LOVE Meijer and come here because the employees are usually amazing and great and love the products and how clean it is. We buy from Meijer religiously and the ONE OF THE FEW TIMES we were actually on a time crunch, we got set back, over something that could have been simple to address if she paid attention and took initiative. The one thing that ticked off my fiancé, is that many of times not on a time crunch the order is perfect and flawless and quick. We were just not expecting to be overlooked and unnoticed, especially after she was waving and being friendly while loading up other orders. I just didn't expect her to not really seem to care other than saying sorry and trying...
Read moreEvansville Indiana store is awful!!
I would love to give zero stars but unfortunately Google hasn't given that option.
Do not and I will repeat DO NOT do online grocery orders with this facility.
I have done online orders with many businesses throughout this pandemic and I will tell you from first hand experience with a total of five orders completed with Meijer that not a single one has ever been smooth.
My final order with this company and my absolute last, resulted in awful choices of getting the usual substitutes because this store is typically out of stock of several items anytime that I had the unpleasantry of ordering with them due to conflicting times available at other retailers.
When I got home I found that I was given upgraded meat which is a typical standard for substitutes but was also charged more money than the advertised price on three total items. I was overcharged $35 on my online order and when I called the store for a resolution, I was told that I have to call a customer service phone number in order to discuss the mistakes made by the Evansville Meijer store instead of it being handled directly from the store that made the mistake to begin with.
After 2 hours and 8 phone calls to the customer service department because typical wait times are 15 minutes or more, I finally got a resolution and a refund acknowledgment that was supposed to take 7 to 10 days.
Much to my surprise, when I called on day 10 because I hadn't received my refund, I was told that it was not processed properly and given to the right department so they would have to reauthorize the refund and send it to the correct department but it would be expedited and I should see it in a few days
I'm on day 14 today and after calling the customer service / corporate phone number again and having another 30-minute conversation, I'm being told that it will take another 7 to 10 days to get my refund and that there is nothing and no other solutions available that could get my refund to me any sooner.
It's no secret that Meijer prices are higher than every other grocery store in this area and it's also no secret that the shelves are always empty but that is why I ordered online so that I wouldn't have to find empty shelves and I could shop the sales items quickly and not waste time trying to find items that they just don't have in stock.
I probably should have just taken the risk of going inside the store and wasting my time finding empty shelves rather than doing an online order because their customer service department is much more incompetent than the store itself.
This isn't something that I will have to worry about anymore as I would rather starve to death than shop at meijer again.
I did however want to send a warning to anyone who has thought about using this store or it's grocery ordering process.
Feel free to take a look at my other reviews as I don't just put negative reviews, I put honest reviews with many positive experiences in my many reviews posted on Google.
Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.Evansville...
