One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Just a strange experience altogether. With rez, seated a few minutes late, in the sun, not a big deal. Server took our order and returned with 2 ice cold cabs served in plastic cup. Wasn't bad once they warmed up. The drinks came pretty quickly which was good, and our server asked if we were ready to order. The menus were online and pretty big so we hadn't even finished looking at everything on the menu. I could tell she was going to rush the meal right there. So she gave us a few minutes, we ordered. Crabby Fries have nothing crabby about them. Call me crazy but I thought there might be some crab involved. It's just fries with cheese sauce for dipping. NE clam chowder, very little clam, consistency was thin on arrival so it was reheated. Worst I've ever had. Shrimp cocktail were not good at all. Cocktail sauce was not good. 1.5 lb of King crab really looked like a half lb if that, and was the worst I've ever tasted, for over $50. Pizza was bland, sauce was tasteless, and the crust was like pre-made more like a flour tortilla. Worst pizza I've ever tasted in my life, although my kid enjoyed it. We hadn't seen our server at this point since the orders were brought out sporadically by random bus boys. No one ever took anything away. Finally she returned and I ordered a beer, and about 15 minutes later she came by and asked if we were ready for the check. Something I may hear once every 300 restaurant visits. So I asked if they had any desserts, and she rattled off the list, we ordered rasp cheesecake which was pretty good, and told her she could bring the check with the dessert, and I had the card waiting because I knew she was in a hurry to get this over with. I believe we were there for about 45 minutes. The total wasn't out of control because aside from the king crab everything else I suspect was inexpensive. I cannot stress how bad a meal becomes when you feel either the server does not want to be there or does not want you there. This just happened to be an all around bad experience which is a rarity for the amount of dining out we do, even in the pandemic. We ate the dessert with all the apps from the beginning still sitting there. I understand the circumstances but we have been going to outdoor dining all over NJ and haven't experienced anything this poor this summer. Would not recommend to...
Read moreBetter half hosted a birthday party for me here last Sunday, 3/10/24 with about 35 attendees. This was a rescheduled date from three weeks before as she decided to cancel the party the day of due to me being under the weather. From what she described to me, it could have been handled smoother by the establishment based on the circumstances. Apparently she had to sign a contract in advance to reservation. Cooler heads prevailed and we were able to reschedule. Fast forward to the day of the event, was informed that some of our party’s guests were asked to move from two of the tables in the back party room area and the staff member advised that “you only have these 5 tables”, something that was never communicated nor outlined in the contract she signed. Server(s) seemed pleasant from what I experienced. The buffet style food menu was tasty, while it was stocked. Seemed like it took a while for the crab fries and pizza to get reloaded. All in all a very mediocre experience. The funny thing is that she decided to host this party for me here. I was going to host a surprise birthday party for her here and decided against it after we were there last fall and she commented how bad the experience has been the last 3 times she visited for one reason or another. Like other reviews, I decided to host her surprise party at another establishment that was at least the same from a service standpoint, better priced for the food offerings, and we were able to send leftovers out with guests. Perhaps that is to be expected as that venue required me to order the food for the 45 guests in advance, whereas Chickies charges per head count based on the predetermined menu offerings that was signed at contract inception. Again, good food, but nothing else special to make you want to come back to...

After a disappointing start to our Mother’s Day celebration elsewhere, we needed a reset—and wow, did Chickie’s & Pete’s deliver!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles, lively energy, and genuine hospitality. The hostesses were in great spirits, and it immediately lifted ours. It felt like walking into a celebration already in progress—and we were just getting started!
We kicked things off with more wine (because yes, Mother’s Day deserves rounds!) and indulged in buttery lobster tails and perfectly crisp crab cakes. The warm butter? Divine. I personally love butter, and this made the meal feel like a rich, decadent experience made just for us.
But what truly made the day unforgettable was the laughter, the conversation, the spontaneous dancing, and the memories captured in photos. It wasn’t just a meal—it was a moment. A reclaiming of joy. A celebration done right.
Huge thanks to the team at Chickie’s & Pete’s Marlton for turning our day around and making it sparkle. You helped us make memories that we’ll cherish for a long time.
We’ll absolutely be back—and next time, we’re bringing a whole crew!
August 2023 My experience was good but on different times it has been great. The crab fries are always great and their cheese sticks as well.
I love the outside bar and seating arrangement. The music and staff is good as well. For a quick neighborhood getaway it a place I recommend.
Overall a positive experience and affordable...
