The employees have messed up several of my orders. On numerous occasions, this is the second time I've been bamboozled by an inaccurate execution of the food. In particular they only scooped barely enough food to place inside the bowl. I've had bowls from other locations and they are supposed to have the bowl filled to the line. This hardly covered the bottom of the bowl. And at the price point and given how little the cost is to make mac and cheese as well as mashed potatoes, $7 & change (if i remember correctly it was $7.54 for the bowl) you can see for yourselves that there wasn't enough food. And for clarification, I didn't eat any of it, so what you see is what I got.
That being said, I do still like Wawa for the conveniences of it having gas, beverages, food, and bathrooms available 24h/7d a week. I just really wish that the employees would take more care in paying attention to details--like consistency and making sure the sandwiches are correct (which has been a consistent problem at multiple locations when I order.).
I have no problem taking the time to write good (and great) reviews, I'm fact I usually try to not give bad reviews. However considering that the Wawa made-to-order counters only seem to get my orders correct 60% of the time--I feel inclined to write about it. And mind you, I will call attention to positive food experiences too....I just haven't had any as of late outside of the checkout lines being fast, and the cashiers being very...
Read moreThis location has been my go to Wawa since it opened in the late 90’s. 27 years and I’ve never complained. But lately, the food quality at this location has fallen off a cliff.
Please look at the photo of what is supposed to be a 10”’ hoagie with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and crispy pickles as an example. Why would anyone in their right mind think that looks like an acceptable hoagie? One tiny sliver of onion? Zero pickles?
My other hoagie wasn’t toasted as requested, didn’t have any mayo, as requested, and was ice cold. The hoagies were made around 7pm on Saturday 5/3- the store was completely empty, so there was no rush.
Last week, my wife’s hoagie had mayo on it, which was not requested, and my hoagie had dairy in it (not requested and I have severe fairly allergy).
I politely called the store last night, made it clear I wasn’t seeking a refund, and just wanted the manager to look at who made the sandwiches and take this as a training opportunity. I’m 99% sure the woman I spoke to, claiming to be the manager, definitely wasn’t the manager. She had no interest in asking any questions or learning more about the poorly made food, instead she just said “well what do you want” and then got off the phone as quickly as possible. No apology for the poorly made food and no thank you for calmly and politely bringing it to their attention after being a customer at this location...
Read moreBustling and fun Wawa at a triangle of 3 busy roads in this suburban area. The parking lot and registers can get crazy at peak times. Employees are generally fast & friendly, considering all the people they're dealing with.
It seems there are more smokers around the outside of this store than other Wawas, probably due to the sheer volume of humanity.
The following is a general Wawa comment (not specific to this location): Picking up a pre-paid mobile order can be confusing and inconsistent for customers and employees alike. Sometimes there's a separate rack (usually resulting in a delay even if your order is done). Sometimes the prepaid order shows up on the counter with unpaid orders from the app and kiosks (actually the least confusing since at least it's predictable). Sometimes they hold it somewhere behind the counter, making it hard to know if it's done or not. Then you have to push your way through and get the attention of one of the busy hoagie makers to check on it. This is inefficient and annoying for everyone.
Something that would help with the chaos (for all kinds of orders) is a leader board showing the status, e.g. "Received", "In process", "Ready". Other chains have already implemented...
