No 1 Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Fair Haven

This is an update from my original review from 10 years ago. The food is MUCH better. And it's been consistent! So I've upgraded my review.

I have to agree with a previous reviewer that the quality suddenly changed a year or two ago. I ordered wor shu opp (sp?) which is pressed duck--a menu item I've ordered many times, and received something I can only describe as some sort of fried meatball. I wouldn't be writing this review if whatever I received tasted OK, but it didn't. Other items were just so-so. This used to be a reliably good and convenient Chinese take out restaurant, but now we tend to avoid it. Like another poster said, Little Szechuan in Little Silver is close by, and at least serves consistent Americanized Chinese food. I door dashed my order. Food came hot and on time. I ordered Moo Shoo Pork and soup. The pancakes (4) to put the pork mixture in were totally stuck together. Other restaurants put paper in between . I had to throw them all away. I did enjoy that there was a lot of pork but the pancakes make the meal! I would not order take out again from there. I may go and...

This use to be my go to Chinese place in this area when I work. Haven't been there in about a year and a half. Stopped by today and was so disappointed. Service was very slow (too busy talking on her cell phone). The egg roll was VERY well done, and the Lo Mein was actually gritty. It was the most disgusting food ever. Will never...
