We recently ordered Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Veg Korma with Chickpeas, Aloo Naan, & Garlic Cheese Nan.
Overall we really enjoyed the dishes. They were perfectly spiced for our tastes, not too much heat but enough to let you know you're eating well made food. The saag was creamy and no stems, which we have had at other places. The tikka masala had good balance and not over oily, korma was packed with veggies and the aloo naan had a good amount of potato's. Plus the rice was amazing.
The negatives were that the saag and tikka both lacked enough proteins. Very small amount of chicken and paneer when compared with other Indian take-out in the area we've enjoyed. While I loved the amount of garlic in the garlic cheese naan, I was expecting that it would be paneer and not what appeared to be melted chedder or some other yellow cheese. Didn't really add anything.
We'll certainly eat there again to see if they do better with their balance of proteins in their dishes and update the review if things get better. It's certainly...
Read moreI’m not of Indian descent, but it is one of my all time favorite cuisines and I’ve tried many places over the years—across NJ and NYC. Without question, House of Naan is the very best I’ve ever had! Every item is cooked fresh to order—no premade curries or naan. The papri chaat is off the hook delicious—crunchy wafers, cooling chutneys, a little spice, a little sweet, and all around flavor bomb. The lamb saag is generous in size and rich in flavor. There is plenty of lamb and it is still piping hot 20min after picking it up. The naan is soft and comforting, and a must for any dish with sauces. The mango lassi is cool and refreshing, perfect for taming down the heat of the saag and papri chaat. My only complaint is I wish they were in a large enough space to sit and enjoy my meal! But everything is packaged well for pickup and keeps the food hot long after you get back home. Love House of Naan and highly...
Read moreWe've ordered from House of Naan 4 times since they opened, each time trying new items on the menu. Everything has been delicious. We love that the owner is a homegrown Fair Lawner. The saag Paneer and Tikki Masala is flavorful, the meat is white meat and not fatty at all. Their Rice Pudding desert is excellent. The Chicken Korma is outstanding. My wife and I love Indian food and get it all the time from all around Bergen County, and House of Naan is absolutely in the top 3. Their prices and portions put them close to #1. Friendly service is also a plus. Lastly, to their name, the Naan is phenomenal. Dipping it in their many delicious sauces is simply amazing. I'd love for them to add a Butter Chicken to the Menu, but the Tikki Masala is an excellent alternative. Highly...
