Where's the quality Dave Thomas promised? I have been going to this Wendy's on N. Broad Street for some time now and I have completely given up at this point and will not be returning. I have already reviewed the nearby KFC, so I just need one more review after this one to complete this Bermuda Triangle of failing Fast Food restaurants in Fairborn. I cannot fathom what is wrong with these businesses, but they are not being managed well, complemented with zero oversight. If someone from Wendy's corporate would like to explain this to me, then I am all ears.
The visit today (25 September 2024) is assuredly my last as I cannot deal with the lack of care or attention given to their handling of what they call "fast" food. My visit before this a few weeks ago took ~1 hour in the drive-thru. This involved multiple employees asking what food I ordered and no explanation as to why it took as long as it did. They upgraded me from a small fry to a medium cold and soggy one, so I guess that's a win. By the time I got my food I was ready to be anywhere else in the world. And after all the waiting, the chili was cold, I received the incorrect nuggets AND the wrong chicken sandwich. One has to wonder what is happening behind the scenes that they simply can't assemble a few common fast food items in a timely manner.
My order today is pictured in this review. A chicken BLT with nothing but a sad piece of lettuce. Admittedly, I did have the mayo removed. Unfortunately, the employee took it upon themselves to lose their glasses and remove the rest of my sandwich along with the mayonnaise. I also ordered Spicy Nuggs which had a very small amount of hot sauce lightly dripped on the nuggets... Nothing like what I've had in the past. I would say maybe they were rushing, but I was the only person in the drive-thru line, so I cannot think of any excuse that even partially justifies their poor service or ability to make fast food.
Save yourself the headache and frustration by staying away from any fast-food chain in the downtown Fairborn area. 🎶 What can I say except you're...

On this most sacred of American days—July 4th—I found myself just behind the gates of one of the last great bastions of airborne dominance: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The jets were overhead, the flags were at full mast, and I was hungry for liberty in its most digestible form. I pulled into a structure glowing not with neon, but with promise.
Wendy’s.
No longer just a restaurant. No longer a building. A shrine to innovation. To beef. To Dave.
I asked if Dave was in. The response was a knowing smile. The kind of smile passed down from one generation of culinary engineers to the next. A smile that said, “Dave doesn’t come here anymore. He ascended.”
The Dave’s Double was handed to me as two F-22s passed overhead in perfect formation. I bit in. My pupils dilated. There was cheese. There was precision. This was technological bovine supremacy.
The fries? Textbook crisp. Salted by what I assume are former DoD specialists.
The Coke Zero? I suspect they have tapped into a classified syrup-calibration matrix—because this wasn’t soda. It was liquid deterrence.
In that moment, I understood the continuity of power. From Minutemen to McNuggets. From mustard gas to mustard packets. From Eisenhower’s farewell address to this very parking lot.
And as the fireworks cracked in the background, my mother (Air Force family, 67 and proud) looked at me and said, “Your grandfather retired from that base. And now you’re here. Eating this.”
I didn’t respond. I saluted. Not just to her. Not just to Dave. But to all of it.
To homegrown excellence. To circular meat geometry. To America.
God bless Dave. God bless the Base. And God bless the United...
Read moreWhen me and my mom walked in this afternoon, the guy who took our order was overly eager, had no patience, and just kinda stared at me, knowing i was looking at the menu and waiting for my mom to use the restroom. until someone else came in and went before me. We waited over 40 minutes for our order while we watched many cars go through the drive through in that time. there were only a couple people in the lobby waiting, and the gentleman that ordered just before me started complaining about the wait, and the fact that there where only 3 orders inside, meanwhile they were sending every car through with no issue. once he finally got his food, he even had to come back in twice because they had messed up his order. there was another person that ordered after us, and got their food maybe 10-15 minutes after the firt man. they wouldn’t have ever had our food ready had we not went up with our receipt. it was just hectic in there. if you go, go through the drive thru. food was amazing though. my nuggets were a little cold, probably because they sat for almost an hour, but our sandwiches and fries were fresh, and they weren’t apologetic but they just seemed flustered. they need better management, i honestly feel kinda bad for these employees. it also kinda smelled in there, but thats to be expected...
