Miami Valley Military History Museum — Attraction in Fairborn

It's worth a look. Smaller. Very informative staff. If your ever at the Dayton VA definitely spend a few extra minutes a pay them a visit.

Wow, so flash ahead a few years and....yes, my donated items are still there! Awesome. Sadly, they will be moving. I suppose they need more space, the building is old and in need of renovation. I heard they will relocate to Fairborn, Ohio, but where, I don't know.

This historical display of mostly unwanted items by the Miami Valley Military History Museum needs a proper long term site to honor and portray the average, true every day soldiers of the past, present and future, with adequate space. I suggested the Dayton Air Force Museum....and they cringed.

Let me start by saying that this museum is exceptionally good! It's got all the things you'd see in a proper military museum - jeeps, guns, flags etc, but what makes this museum so diverse is the collection of DIFFERENT types of military uniforms, the gear that comes with them, and the specialty patches/awards, etc attached to them! They are diverse, eye opening and very interesting! You'll have plenty to see and experience in this place! Completely handicap accessible, and you'll need about 1 hour for the entire place!...

I was so surprised and impressed with this museum! I went in wondering how it could compete with the nearby National Museum of the USAF but this collection has a lot of unique items. I really enjoyed this museum and have recommended it to others! Make sure to take cash because there is a donation...
