The pizza here is great — I usually get a cheese and pepperoni for my family, and it’s always a hit. The crust has a nice crisp, and even when I reheat it in my air fryer (500° on Sear for 5 minutes), it still tastes delicious. However, the customer experience is really affected by a lack of effective management. During a recent visit to pick up an order, the store was busy, and it was clear that one employee — a woman with a ponytail and noticeable jewelry — was doing almost everything. She was making pizzas, helping customers, correcting others' mistakes, and keeping the place running. It was impressive, but also concerning. Meanwhile, the manager (slicked-back ponytail) was just standing in the back, not engaging with customers or supporting the team. He made eye contact with me but said nothing — even though I had been standing there waiting. There was a small sign directing pickup customers, but it was easy to miss, and he made no effort to clarify or assist. At one point, a customer behind me was acknowledged for pickup, but I continued to be overlooked. The manager would randomly ask some people if they were there for pickup, but there was no real system — or urgency. While I waited 20 minutes (even though my pizza had been ready), the only employee keeping things together was still juggling everything. Eventually, she had a moment to check and realized my order had been sitting there. She even informed the manager, who appeared completely unaware. It was frustrating to watch, and I truly felt for her — no one can sustain that kind of workload without support. If this continues, it’s likely to lead to burnout, high turnover, and a negative experience for both staff and customers. Managers should lead by example — coordinating staff, supporting customer service, and stepping in where needed. Even basic tasks like checking in with waiting customers, wiping down tables, or organizing the front could have helped. Standing around doing nothing is not leadership. If this location wants to keep the great food reputation, the team deserves better support — especially those carrying the weight on their own. Andy's Pizza (Fairfax): A Tale of Two Locations, and Two Experiences I've had Andy's Pizza from the Tysons location before, and to be blunt, I wasn't impressed. However, the Fairfax location seemed to garner more positive reviews on Google, so I decided to give it a shot. My mom and I walked in, and I smiled at the cashier. She didn't acknowledge me initially. Thankfully, the gentleman behind the counter was much more welcoming. He smiled and spoke as we approached to order. He also rang us up, provided ice, and said goodbye as we left, which I appreciated. The seating at this location is rather limited and oddly arranged, so we opted for the bar. JT , never greeted us or asked if we wanted to order anything. I had to initiate the conversation, asking if they had a specific item at the bar. He quickly replied "no" and walked away. Later, I observed him interacting with another patron, a woman of a different race than myself, in a very jovial and engaging manner. It was clear his lack of engagement with us wasn't his default personality, but rather a deliberate choice. Interestingly, the manager or owner was seated at the other end of the bar, working on paperwork. He never acknowledged us or encouraged JT to do so. While he may have assumed JT had already greeted us since he arrived from the back shortly after we sat down, as someone who has managed and run multiple businesses, I know it's always best practice to acknowledge and engage with customers. Now, let's talk about the food. The pizza was, unfortunately, extremely mediocre. It lacked sufficient cheese and flavor, and the crust wasn't particularly buttery. It was a far cry from what I'd hoped for. While some complain about the cost of Andy's, I'm of the opinion that if the food is exceptional, price becomes less of a concern. However, in this case, the food simply didn't justify the expense. Ultimately, I won't be returning to the Fairfax location. The inconsistency in service and the underwhelming pizza experience left a lasting negative impression.

Tried the classic 'roni cup pizza and margherita slices. Very satisfying chew, seductively thin crust, tangy crisp tomato sauce with thin crusty 'roni cups, and a stunning crisp/crunch with almost every bite of 'rony cup slice. As for Margherita slice, it is like a support actor compared to classic 'roni cup pizza. Definitely get a slice or a pie with meat, meat juices seem to add something extra to the crust. Oh, and letting customers control their own spicy dried grind pepper topping from FlatIron Pepper Co. IS GENIUS! If the thin crusty 'roni cups weren't addictive enough, dosing FlatIron spicy pepper sealed the deal for me and most likely for anyone who loves spicy food. I do wish there will be more toppings/flavors offerings in the future like anchovy, Hawaiian, clam in garlic butter white sauce, and pistachio. The current set of flavors can get dull quick IMHO. I am fully aware that espousing a self-proclaimed edict on whose pizza or pizza style is the best is the same as debating election politics during your Sunday family dinner. But seriously, Andy's pizza is seductive and addictively good - I can't find anything close to Andy's yummy crust for dozens of miles. With various pizza championship winnings bolstering Andy's brand pedigree, it would be heartbreak if Andy's pizza didn't taste this good. There are some complaints though as I plan to find excuses to drag my friends to eat here often. It would be nice if the music wasn't blasting my ears and distracting my blessful chew of each pizza bite. And lastly, it is quite a dissappointment to see quality gin and whisky bottles oxidizing in the blazing sun in front of the windows (needless to say, I won't be ordering any of their whiskey or gins anytime soon).

I placed an order online and arrived at the scheduled pickup time, but when I got there, the staff couldn’t find it. I spoke with three different employees, and none of them were able to locate the order under my name. Even after I showed proof of the $35 charge on my phone, I was told again there was no record of it, and no one offered a clear solution.

Another customer beside me was experiencing a similar issue with her order, so it seemed the problem wasn’t just isolated to me. Unfortunately, no effort was made to remake the order, issue a refund on the spot, or provide any alternative. In the end, I left without my food and will now have to dispute the charge with my bank.

The pizza here has been good in the past, which makes this experience especially disappointing. I hope the management takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled, because the food deserves better customer service to match.

On September 7, I decided to give them one more try, and again failed. Place an order at 5:38, to be picked up at 6:45. Showed up at 6:41 and was told it would be another five minutes, which I was expecting would be a possibility it wasn’t ready. Told the gentleman, which is one of the same individuals that blew me off last week several times, that I would be sitting right there and pointed to an open chair. At 6:57 I go back up to see if it’s ready because it’s now been 16 minutes, when I was told 5 more mins. Had to go through two people to find it and it was sitting on the bottom shelf of their rack. Why the hell are you letting pizza sit around when you know the customer is sitting there waiting for it. And the ticket on the pizza as a timestamp on the receipt of 6:42, which was one minute after I walked to the front desk. Absolutely horrific customer service by this place. I will never give them...
