Dulce Crepes — Restaurant in Fairfax

One of my favorite crepe places to visit in Fairfax.

The batter for their crepe has just the right amount of soft, light and chewy texture to it. Absolutely amazing.

I usually get the crepe their Bavarian Crepe but adding hazelnut instead of dark chocolate to it. Absolutely such an amazing desert m. I love the sweet yet creaminess from the mascarpone.

I appreciate the plethora of vegan options though. The smoky savory feel of the crepe was very satisfying and portions are very large. I would probably opt for the savory crepe even though I am neutral about the vegan cheese used. I would want to try the sweet crepe again in person when it's fresh as I think it has potential as a lovely sweet French crepe vibe.

This is definitely a great option though when you're craving a French crepe and want more than just one option.

They also have gluten free crepe batter as well which really adds to their options.

Ambiance: (5/5) it has a nice cafe vibe to it. I sat down and ate my food and the music was good and the tables were spread out.

Price: (4/5) I thought the ice cream was a bit overpriced but when I saw the portion I was corrected. Get one scoop. Two scoops is more than 8oz of ice cream.

Food: (3/5) I liked the ice cream but that seems hard to mess up. The crepe was okay. It was a bit too soft and chewy for me. I have had a lot better crepes in DC. I have to give it an overall 3 since it isn't a sit down restaurant where you can really judge the environment and service.

Service: (5/5) The food came out really quick. I was not disappointed.

In conclusion, this isn't a must try but since I was in the area it was a good choice.

This morning I stopped by to get something to eat, I usually go to this place for it’s delicious food. And only minor mistakes that I didn’t even bother since we all are humans and make sometimes mistakes. Today wasn’t the case. I ordered 1 strawberry banana vegan smoothie (I asked first), 1 Coffee with oat milk, and I asked if a matinal vegan crepe can be made in a panini, all the answers were yes. I paid in cash around $22 something. First coffee came out. I tried to put some sugar and I noticed it was all the way up filled, reason why it was dripping coffee. I went to to the gentleman who took my order and he said sorry, I asked for oat milk. I pour the coffee on the trash to make room for the milk. It was very lukewarm coffee but I kept on waiting, usually my first thought is not to complain, choose to understand. Then another gentleman put down a banana smoothie, which I again, just kept on this second mistake, and after a few more minutes (around 15 minutes passed by), the gentleman who took my order and the other gentleman put down a round plate to-go with a Matinal crepe, and then I said “I ordered this in a panini” the gentleman who took my order repeat back to me “AND a panini?”. I repeat back to him what I ordered, what I asked to confirm he was able to do it, and he said yes to all. And they just didn’t do anything to quick provide a good service at that point. I was running late, so I return the coffee, the smoothie. And I walked away. I overheard one gentleman saying “If I have your card I would refund….” Which honestly seemed to me a book apology. I want my money back, yes. Also all this, the owner can easily check on cameras. Time frame 11:45am-12:09pm 4/29 Friday. I didn’t ask for receipt. I paid with a $50 dollar bill. I...

The crêpes made here reflect those actually seen on European travel shows. The smoked salmon savory and blueberry sweet crêpes are our favorite (see pics) and both were surprisingly filling and delectable. And the coffee/expresso bar seems to be serve exclusively illy based drinks ....... really can't get from European than this.

When you first walk in, you come upon ordering kiosks. You can order at register too if you really need to order through an actual employee. Then they make the crêpes in front of you. Honestly, I thought because smoked salmon is expensive, I would get a super small slice - but that was not the case at all. The amount of smoked salmon was surprisingly filling (and I eat a lot) and balanced well with capers, cream cheese, and {whoa, freshly squeezed} lemon. The same generous filling descriptions go for the sweet crêpes we ordered where they used fresh and big blueberries. Best of all, we didn't feel bloated from the crêpe dough, filling or anything else and we had the contented filled stomach.

I really cannot think of any other place that makes authentic European crêpes. There's Lady M crêpe cakes but that is completely different. And any other place that claims crêpes on their menu is just a joke so don't be fooled; Dulce Crêpes is really a diamond in the rough and competes really well among the authentic restaurants within the vicinity.
