Pupuseria El Buen Gusto — Restaurant in Fairfax

I'm going to be giving this place a simple two stars for service.

I first tried to place an order for delivery but I couldn't get a person that spoke proper English, they just couldn't understand me. I got flustered and hung up. That would have been it but my girl kept on craving what was on their menu, so I decided to be extra nice and go there myself for takeout.

So I hauled ass and when I arrived the line was huge. It seemed like the person at the counter was taking hours for every customer. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit, but that had to be the reason that there was such a pile up. When I finally got to the counter and placed my order, seemed a little pricey but whatever. It took about 10 minutes for it to get to me and I went on home.

Here's the kicker, when I got home and my girl and I opened our food, it turns out they got her order wrong... It was too much energy to go back and complain so we just ate what crap they gave us....

This was my 3rd time at this restaurant since we were craving pupusas. I decided to order the Asada instead, another ordered taquitos another pupusas. Notes: They should only serve Pupusas, literally I've had better, but this is their best dish. They are overpriced and the Asada was about the size of my palm and it was $15. It was overcooked so very tough to cut and even worse to chew. I actually ended up throwing half of it away as it also lacked flavor. What a waste of $15. Their refried beans are really good and the rice was undercooked. The taquitos were good, just overpriced. If you want a better choice without the Pupusas go across the street to Senor Tequilas. Other than that there is a MUCH better place in Annandale in the Hmart Shopping center next to CVS that has the most delicious Carne Asada with huge portions off of Hummer Rd! This is my last visit here for sure....

My family and I wanted to try something authentic and close by, I checked the website and the prices were reasonable. I called the store and the lady who answered was very rude but I still order. After 30 mins wait I picked up the food and when it was time to pay, it came up to 48$ & some change. Keep in mind, I only ordered two soups and according to online they were only 14$, & the horchata was 3$. I told the person who checked me out that online was a different price. In which she replied “ there’s the menu, I don’t make the prices the owners do” I told her that online was totally different, and if she could change it. She reply with just “I can’t do that owners do “ and she set back down in a chair watching a video. Got home to eat the soups and they put the smallest chicken and beef portion. For 48$ it is not worth it !! 0/10 wouldn’t recommend this place, will...
