I visited on a Tuesday evening to satisfy a Taco Tuesday craving. Ordering online was quite easy, and I appreciate being able to note food allergies I have. After reviewing the menu, I ordered pasole rojo soup, guacamole and chips, two regular tacos (birria and chicharron), one special taco (million to Juan), and some churros. My order was ready a few minutes earlier than promised online which worked great given I arrived a few minutes early anyway. Service was cordially efficient, and I was pleased to see the effort taken to double check my order for accuracy (which it absolutely was).

The soup had a clean taste with well cooked pork. The chips were crispy and not overly salty and went well with the portion of guacamole that tasted fresh and refreshingly mild compared to others I have sampled. Tacos typically had assertive flavors in past visits, and these did not lack for flavor or spice. The birria taco I found to be a little too spicy to enjoy the meat like I wanted. However the other two had not only well cooked protein and other ingredients but appropriate seasoning for my taste. Churros felt a little blander than I remembered but still satisfied me with a crispy texture without being at all oily. The caramel at the bottom is just about the right amount so the churros retain their crispiness.

The bill came to around $35 including tax and tip, so I feel like I received a good value for my visit and could return for future visits when for a taco Tuesday or a non-Tuesday...

I started coming to Taco Bamba on Braddock road about a year ago and when I first came everything was cool the manager was nice and they had these Taco Bamba bags which are pretty nice looking. For ever since the first time I noticed they was giving me this little cheap plastic bag but other people was getting the bottle back so I had to ask for one didn't understand that so I inquired they claimed or those people order online so what I did was I ordered online today because I've sat and watched that so I ordered online today waited but by the time I did go in there was another person waiting of color and not Latino and myself which I'm not Latino either so you can see who was waiting and sure enough he put my stuff in a plastic bag so I inquired may I have a black bag please and they act like they hear me so I just took one shoot not stole but I just recent grab one you know part of the allure for me was the bag. Now I don't know if that's the practice from management or is people's personal feelings but that's some subtle racism and I will no longer support that Taco Bamba there is another one within the area I don't know what they practice in their restaurant. I guess some people had learned from this administration they can't get over their own prejudices which is sad. Get a better attitude it's only a bag a bag promoting...

Have you ever had something that was just fun to eat? Lol. Try the Super Torta at Taco Bamba. A torta is a sandwich in Mexico (while in other Spanish speaking countries, it means cake - which is pastel in Mexico, but enough with the Spanish lesson, back to the food). We had the Torta Bamba, which has 7 meats, with cheese, beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado and Pineapple. It's serious! It's not the greatest tasting sandwich, and needs one of their sauces to elevate it, but what makes it fun is guessing which meat you are getting in each bite. And it's a lot of food. I went in very hungry after a George Mason basketball game, but only ate half (after eating half a taco and half a flauta). Give it a try.

We also got a variety of tacos. The birria, shrimp, Arabe, chorizo and al pastor. My favorite was the Arabe. And get the Jeffrey, a flauta, which is a huge spring roll with 3 meats. That was very good.

And they serve cocktails as well, we had a couple of different margaritas with Pineapple and passion fruit. They had some kick to them, too, they weren't shy with the tequila.

All in all, while the food wasn't outstanding, it was good, and with such a variety of items, you are sure to land on something you'll love. And the staff is very friendly....

20230420 had Taco Bamba for lunch at work. It was carryout and the food was cold by the time I got around to eating it. My coworker also didn't switch out the corn tortilla with flour tortilla which made my experience with TB wasn't great. I decided to stop here for a late lunch, and definitely no carryout for TB. Eat at the restaurant. The employees are very polite and welcoming. This location is very small, and the set up tables in this narrow hallway where the bathrooms are 🤢. The restaurant doesn't feel clean and I think it's because the cook right next to where the dining tables are. The food was good. I got the crispy grouper and Baja shrimp tacos. Just enough meat but I could use a little bit more. The smoke from the grill started to bother me. There are outdoor seating... I highly recommend that if the weather is nice. Because the restaurant is pretty narrow overall, the grill is pretty close to where I'm seating. I think I might smell like TB the rest of the day. The restrooms are unisex. The one I used wasn't that clean, but decent. I think it's mainly because there was water around the base if the toilet and below the paper towel dispenser.
