Delicious! 2nd time here this week. Fresh, tasty and plenty of food for the money. We got the "Choose Two" - 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich. They were, unfortunately, out of spuds...but we will get one next time. Downloaded the app...gonna refer to friends. This is a great value!
Revisited today and had a half spud and half salad. Soooo good. Took a photo because it was so pretty. Plenty of food and a large water. Great value.
Came to McAlister's a few weeks ago with 2 others. The restaurant was empty but our order never came out. After 15 minutes we complained. Apparently our order never was sent to the kitchen. The manager gave us 3 VIP passes for a whole meal including drink and cookie. Today, I used that coupon and had a very positive experience. I was at lunch by myself, not a common occurrence. It was only 11 AM. Somewhere in my head, I reasoned that the food would likely be fresher. I wasn't wrong. I ordered the Pick 2 with half a club sandwich and a Spud Max. Unsweetened iced tea and a cookie came with my meal, thanks to the coupon. There was only one other customer in the restaurant this early. His sandwich came out and was beautiful. My food came, and it was very colorful and pretty. It was also fresh and hot. Kudos to McAlister's for an improved experience.
While I was eating, I had the opportunity to talk to a super friendly employee, Amy. I asked if I could talk to her and she sat down so I could tell her what I had on my mind. I let her know how great today's order was, and I thanked her for her attentive service. But I also told her about my less than stellar experiences when ordering online and using the pick up window. EVERY time I've used it, I have been disappointed. The potatoes seem old. The salads are skimpy. The sandwiches seem thrown together. It is usually cold. When I've used that method to pick up, I have been sitting in the lot when I ordered, so cold food hasn't been due to tardiness in picking it up.
So...my point...the food I just got today should be the NORM, regardless of the way it is delivered...eat in or carryout.. It is what we pay for as customers, and is what we should expect every single time we frequent this or any restaurant...or business, for that matter. The pandemic is not an excuse for poor service or less than desirable products at the same price. In fact, there is never an excuse to expect customers to pay for less than the best the company can provide. I humbly suggest that folks KINDLY speak up for themselves. Let restaurants and other businesses know that we expect their best. Hold them up to their best standard. Don't spend money on something that doesn't...
Read moreWas immediately hit with old mop smell and greeted by 2 employees playing rock-paper-scissors, loser had to take our order. These two situations should have been enough for us to leave, but after placing our order we then had to do 2 laps around the dining room to try and find a clean table. Not crumbs but full on entire meals left. After finding the 1 out of 5 tables that were clean we sat down to enjoy a meal with a white animal hair in it. While waiting for our food we might have witnessed were the hair could have come from when one employee was playing with her long hair while wearing gloves that were supposed to help keep our food "clean". I would have liked to have said something to the manager but the lost look on his face just told me he was in over his head. A word of caution if you should find your way to this location first take a deep breath if it stinks...run. Second look around the dining room for empty/clean tables and third watch the food...
Read moreRestaurant was clean. You can order, sit, and eat as in other McAlister units they have. Carrot Cake is awesome! Food was as expected.
It was awkward being asked for an automated "tip" when I paid for the order? Normally I pay for the food and a food runner brings the food, and I leave a couple of dollars afterwards for picking up the plates and cleaning the table....it is a step above a fast food restaurant I feel. I doubt many folks even do that.. But this " asking for a tip", up front especially, was awkward. After I paid, without a top, I asked who I assume was the lead person about the tip issue. He said they put the tips together and split between ALL employees. So I just took out $8 and gave to him for that. BUT from now on when I am considering where to eat, and my budget, I will have to assume that McAlister is now promoting a tipped environment to its EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS? I enjoyed the...
