10 out of 10 for food and service! Fantastic new place! If you're looking for some authentic, Mexican food and the flavors that go with it, then you need to come here! For real! Another important detail, is that everything is made to order, fresh. There is even a sign posted , saying as much. (Pic below) My mom has been wanting us to check this place out since it opened. We finally went, yesterday and we are so happy we did. We are most always, with my grandmother who has limited mobility, so it can be a challenge at times with parking (depending where we are and hoping for a close spot). Thankfully we found a close enough spot. It was about 2pm so we anticipated that it would be quiet, since it was after the lunch rush, and we were right. We were offered a table close to the door, which i appreciate because I know people are trying to accommodate my grandmother, however she doesn't like to sit by the door because she's always cold. This place is completely new and very clean. The decor is vibrant and they have fresh flowers on all the tables, which is nice touch. Once we were seated and looking at the lunch menus, our server Roxanna, offered the full menu to us. She explained later that the lunch menu is utilized for the working lunch crowd, to make it easier for everyone... Makes sense to me, because the full menu has much more to it. (Photos below) They serve, fresh chips and salsa at the table, and we ordered a Michelada to share. I got the Chile Verde Burrito, my grandma got the two item combo with Chile Relleno and cheese enchilada, and Mom got the "Tampiquena" plate. (Skirt steak with a cheese enchilada). The Michelada, Roxanna made, looked like a centerpiece, it was so beautiful, with cucumber, celery and a whole shrimp on the rim with Chamoy and Tajin! We all enjoyed our food so much. Lots of flavor. The Chile Verde is SOO good! The beans and rice on the other plates were both very good as well. When I say authentic flavor, I mean it. We all share bites of food, because we like to try everything we can. My grandma enjoyed her food and my mom as well. The only thing about my moms plate, "for the price", she said she wished she got more of the skirt steak and would've done without the enchilada, if that could've been an option. I almost forgot..we ordered, Tacos Del Mar, off the lunch menu for our neighbor, Togo. Its one fish, one shrimp and one octopus taco, but you can choose whatever combo of the three, you want. He told us the tacos were very good. We look forward to coming back, and even happier that it's a great new place, in town, and close by. Before we left, I spoke to Luis, the owner, who was so nice. Thank you so much. We...
Read moreThe first time I came here I was by myself and ate/drank at the bar. Food was great and so was the strawberry mojito. I left satisfied. I decided to bring my family there another time since I had such a great experience the first time and least to say we were all disappointed. When we first got there it was 7 of us and we were expecting 2 more but they weren’t going to be there for another 50 minutes, but we were just gonna eat without them. The server said they can’t push any tables together unless we call in advance (there were several empty tables and almost the entire booth was empty.) I asked if we could just sit at separate tables at the booth without even pushing them together and the guy told us no which was very weird. Had we have come in all separate, we would have been able to sit there no issues, but we were told no because we were a group. It came off rude and snarky. When it came down to our food, it took a really long time for it to come out(15+ minutes) considering only 2 of us ordered an actual meal and one other person ordered nachos. The nachos came out without meat on it and they had to make another one. Also, they forgot to bring out someone’s horchata. Our server was a guy who also does drinks at the bar in addition to taking our orders. His overall attitude just seemed irritated that we were there and we already got off on the wrong foot when he wouldn’t even let us sit at separate tables at the booth. It all worked out though because by the time the last 2 party members arrived, we paid the bill and decided to go somewhere else. My family said they felt it was time for us to go because they didn’t feel welcome. I was really disappointed because I love this place’s mojitos and tacos; Although, the pricing is quite ridiculous. $15 for a mojito that barely gets you buzzed? $13 for 3 tacos and no side?!! Why is my beverage more than my actual food item and why are 4 tacos $13! Safe to say I don’t think I’ll be coming back with my family anytime soon. I also hate to think it, but I feel maybe there was some discrimination going on given that my family is african american, and I am a white passing girl and maybe thats why I was treated differently when I came alone. Really disappointed with the way our server...
Read moreI was staying in nearby Suisun City, CA and when I arrived late Sunday evening for a week long work trip, Casa Agave was one of the only places still open for dinner close by. So, I only went there initially because it was one of the few places open and not because I really wanted Mexican food. But I have to say, this experience was one of life’s sweet surprises! And I went on to dine there 3 more nights of my 4 night stay (and regretted the one night I didn’t go). The staff made me so welcome as I ate solo at the bar. Init, my server, was most attentive offering suggestions on what dishes to try. However, her 1st suggestion, the shrimp enchilada simply name Casa Agave (same name as restaurant) was such a hit, I had it every time I entered the building! EVERYTIME! I miss it now that I’m back home and I miss them! Two brothers are owners and they are great, too! What they have created there is really special. The food, the ambience, the service, the quaint location, all of it. SPOT ON. And I WILL be back because now I must try all of the...
