Discover this little modern trending restaurant in Fairfield, CT. Came here for dinner after work with colleagues. The staff was attentive with our need and they were quick. Service time for food was decent especially with the number of customers they had at the time. For appetizers we ordered the Poppers, Calamari and the Zucchini Hay. They were all delicious despite the fact they were extremely oily. For main entrée, I ordered the fish sandwich, which composed of sweet potato fries with perfectly grilled mahi mahi filet over bread sandwiches. Delicious. The Chelsea Burger was also beyond expectations if you're looking for something with more substance. Fantastic. The decor and cleanliness were defiantly up to standards and especially their kitchen. The only let down, and the reason for the four stars rating, were the alcoholic drinks. All my guests complained, were simply skimpy on the alcoholic... Hardly a drop of alcohol in them. Overall, by the time we retired, the place was packed with customers, which defiantly describes my sentiment of this restaurant... a place you will come back....
Read moreThis is a review that I forgot to write, from a visit in November. Not my first visit to The Chelsea, but this time I took friends. The tables were very nicely setup to observe all of the rules of social distancing. We had a lovely night out, and enjoyed the food The Chelsea is so famous for.
I started off the meal with their delicious Mile High Manhattan (Tin Cup Colorado Whiskey & Alessio Rosso Vermouth, Amerena cherry & a dash of whiskey barrel aged bitters)
We shared an appetizer of Calamari, that came with General Tso's glaze, arugula & Thai chili mayo. My main course was Scallops, pan seared over mushroom risotto, wilted spinach leaves & toasted slivered almonds. One of my friends had Chicken 'Scarpariello' (pan-roasted half a bird, spicy cherry peppers & smash-fried red bliss potatoes) and my other friend had a Tuna Burger, topped w/ avocado, tomato, bean sprouts & spicy mayo.
The food at The Chelsea is always absolutely mouthwatering. The portions are a great size. They are continuing today to do in-door dining, as well...
Read moreThis was our first time at The Chelsea. Overall impression: the waiter was somewhat lifeless and very short on words; it took half an hour to get drinks and another full hour after that to get the food, and over half hour to get desert, so we spent 3 1/2 hours there. Food ranged generally from ok to good. Dirty Martini was ok, Old Fashioned ok but small and you don't muddle the cherry. Vietnamese Soup lacked a little flavor, beet salad good, Octopus ok, Mussels ok, Chelsea Burgers were very good but that's not rocket science; they are cut in half and slightly toasted on the side, which I liked, easier to eat. Bread Pudding was delicious and made fresh in a cast iron pan, so Bravo on that one! Tiramisu was good but not excellent. Atmosphere was nice and not too loud. Only one single bathroom for each gender, not quite enough to avoid waits. They take reservations over the phone,...
