So, you go in during their Labor Day Weekend sales -- you get excited because of the BUY 1 SUIT -- GET THREE FREE. The deal sounds great and you try on the suit you like and get three similar ones. At this point, you feel great, are happy you're getting a good deal, and have at NO TIME been informed of any type of terms and conditions SPECIFIC to this sale.
You have to leave early after trying on the suit jackets and the salesperson says "No problem," to you getting the pants sized/measured tomorrow. You pay your $850 + bill and go on your way -- to return tomorrow for a mere 20 minutes to get measured.
Next day -- only one person in the store, people everywhere, two employees decide to go to lunch at the same time, and the poor guy left alone in the store (Jordan -- this man should get a raise) is running around trying his best to do as much as he possibly can. He measures each pant, takes the notes dutifully, and while you're flustered by the craziness, he does his best to help.
When the two ladies from their lunch break return, they casually stroll in and make no effort to help their colleague 'in the weeds.' You bring your suits up and explain the measurements have been made and make to leave. She stops you (one being the lady who rang up your bill the day before), telling you that you have to pay for the alterations. EXCUSE ME? You incredulously respond that you have NEVER had to pay for them before as everyone knows such costs are included when buying an entire brand new suit.
Another gentleman named George appears and tells you that because its a sale, they do not include alterations since you aren't paying full price. Why wasn't this made clear to you yesterday? Why do they only apologize and not try to right their wrong? Why don't they offer even a discount on the alterations (you know, to keep the sale and not lose a customer... thus also recognizing their mistake/error and unknowingly saving themselves from getting poor reviews online)?? Such questions, all logical, run through your brain.
Would Best Buy sell you a TV on sale and then tell you after paying that the cables aren't included (you know, since the TV was on "SALE")? No.
Good luck to you JoS. A. Bank. Learn to make your deals clear to customers and never assume it is PERFECTLY OKAY to nickel and dime your client after being deceived and led to believe alterations are included (AS THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN). An "I'm sorry," is not enough. Nor is two. Nor three of them. Train your personnel better or risk losing more and...
Read moreTerrible experience and customer service is atrocious at this store. Bottom line is staff is unhelpful and flat out unprofessional. Rented a tuxedo for friend's wedding party. First day I went, the staff spent 90% of their time on tik tok, taking selfies, or would hang out in the backroom and not help customers drinking their iced lattes. They took my measurements for the tuxedo hap hazardly and said everything was taken care of. I came back to pick up the tuxedo and tried it on in the store. I could not button my pants at the waist, the pants were 2 inches too short, the blazer 2 inches too short, and my neck size on the shirt was 2 inches too big. The person that was "helping me" would continue to hang out in the back and again was on her phone and provided no help. I showed her how poorly the clothes fit and asked her to remeasure me three times. She refused and said she knew all my sizes just by looking at me. She reordered the blazer, shirt, and pants. They came in two days before the wedding and what do you know, they didn't fit. The blazer was too long and I looked like a clown. Furthermore, they didn't have the shoes, socks, or bowtie to give me for the wedding that they had on my second visit. They were able to find some extra in the back. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I had for a pretty garbage tuxedo that was $250 to rent... what a joke. Reading the other reviews, seems like very similar experiences. Will never use this place again and the staff needs to be trained on professionalism. If you need a Jos A Bank store, at least try a...
Read moreWhere do I start with this horrid establishment. To start things off they didn’t record 2/10 of the groomsmens suit measurements so they had to go back a week before the wedding to get re-fitted. On top of that, the groom requested slim fit for everything. Not one thing was slim fit that we tried on, the jackets were LONG and airy, the pants were baggy as heck, like it was 1999 defjam clothing, and the shirt fit like a pirate. Extremely baggy, and the woman described it as “baloony”. When I personally went in to try my suit on for the first time, she handed it to me and said have a nice day. She did not ask me to try it on, even after knowing there had been issues with our parties suits. I said can I try this on and get pinned out? Oh sure yes, wel the tailor isn’t here so how it fits is how it fits, but you should be good. For $280 to rent this suit, I’d have been better off having ray charles fit me. To top it off, when I got home and tried on both shoes(only tried one on in the store), I noticed specs of either dirt or puke on them(photo attached). With everything going on in the world you’d think they would hold themselves to a high standard of sanitizing and cleaning their garment. To make things better, the two times I went to the store multiple employees sitting on their phones not helping customers. The manager yelled at them in front of customers, very unprofessional and made it awkward to even be in there. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, and I will go out of my way to never let somebody shop here and waste...
