Bayside Lounge — Restaurant in Fairhaven

Can't say a lot about the food as it was the first time there in a long time(with a new menu). As far as what my father and I tried we both had Mozambique ( him shrimp and me chicken). Prepared like no other place we've had it before. They used a sauce that was made with linguica in it instead of the usual red pepper and other spices. It was delicious albeit a little greasy. Had choice of 2 sides. Both of us had rice(nothing spectacular about it although unusual in that it had corn in it instead of the usual carrots and peas) and onion rings (for a little upcharge and it was a whole basket not a tiny side). They were crunchy, big, and cooked well in a batter that kind of reminds me of hush puppies. Awesome. Usually also served with a Portuguese pop but they were out of them. Gave us Portuguese muffin instead which was very enjoyable in that it gave a nice sweetness to offset some of the spice from the sauce. Want to say price was about $14.95 each. I visited on a weekday afternoon, and was pleasantly surprised to find a full indoor lively bar with a coin operated pool table in the back. Patio seating was available where we ordered the $6 burger (w/ purchase of a drink). The burger was truly the best in recent memory. The perfectly seasoned beef patty was served with thinly sliced rings of onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and American cheese on a butter-fried potato bun with a side of fries. Our friendly and engaging waitress brought our food and drinks and stuck around for a bit of conversation with every refill. She described her role at the bar with the enthusiasm of one who loves being a part of the community she has had a hand in creating....

Placed an online order at 1:33PM and ordered a shrimp plate and a wrap for my boyfriend to pick up. He waited for 45 minutes in the restaurant to get our food and then I received an email at 2:30PM that our food would be ready at 3:14PM!!! Thankfully he came home with the food shortly after but it had leaked all over everything because we received shrimp mozambique and not the fried shrimp plate as requested. I also received french fries instead of the salad I ordered. Will not...
