Rita's Bakeshop — Restaurant in Fairview-Ferndale

A few months into planning our wedding, it was time for my husband and I to start thinking about the cake, and since we no longer lived in the area, we had no idea where to start. Thankfully, Rita’s Bakeshop was recommended to us by one of our other vendors who had worked with Rita in the past, so we decided to check her out. We couldn’t have made a better decision!

My first correspondence with Rita was very informative, and based on reviews and her own debrief of her offerings and services, we decided to book a tasting. “Wow!” was all my husband, my parents, and I could say after the tasting. All the flavors we tried were absolutely delicious; to be honest, I wanted to choose them all! We ended up choosing two flavors for our cake: chocolate cake with raspberry filling, and white cake with fresh strawberry filling.

About a month before the wedding, Rita and I had a call to go over final decoration, drop-off, and timing details. The day of the wedding, everything went perfectly smooth, as I didn’t even know she came! The cake was where it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be, and it looked and tasted amazing! I will, without a doubt, use her again for any other cake requirements...

Update Nov 13, 2020: Emily took care of us today and I just had to go online and put in a good word for her because she was just the friendliest, sweetest person behind a counter that I've encountered for a very long time. Good job, Emily, and thank you for your kindness and professionalism!

If anyone has anything negative to say about this bakery, they are obviously insane or have no taste buds! The bakery items here are AMAZING. I absolutely love the chocolate chip cheesecake with Oreo crust. I could eat one everyday, lol. Cannolis are really really good too!

The niece took care of our order yesterday and she was very professional and enthusiastic about her job there. She really made our visit very pleasant and helped us choose the things we wanted to try.

We will be back again and again and again! Highly recommend this place for all your bakery needs. Great little gem in the small town...

Wow! We used Rita's bakeshop to provide desserts for our wedding. I cannot begin to express how thoroughly and genuinely impressed both we and our guests were by the selection. I've never seen so many people who "don't really like dessert" go back for more. All I have to say is.. order more than you think you will need! The cake was soft and tasteful, the icing not overpowering or too heavy. When initially searching for bakeries we tried a few in central PA and it was clear that Rita's was the absolute best. Can't wait for our anniversary when we have our last two remaining...
