Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Fairview Park

Decided to stop by randomly, we had remembered a decent meal a year or so ago, and thought about coming back. Sat at the bar, and ordered the Bourbon Steak, prepared medium rare. Bartender was friendly, and when we asked her about the steak, she said it was really good. The picture on the menu showed a large steak, piled on top of onions and mushrooms with a creamy garlic sauce and a huge fluffy pile of mashed potatoes. It looked great....Our attention was caught when two loud, sizzling plates came out, but it was met with immediate disappointment when we saw the hockey puck sized steaks which were obviously burnt, overly greasy flimsy onions and barely any mushrooms, and two dinky scoops of mashed potatoes. Steak was most definitely not medium rare as we asked, but overly well done, and completely burnt. The creamy garlic sauce was nowhere to be seen on top. I noticed some small bits of garlic and clear melted butter or oil, but it had no flavor. The steak was nearly inedible for me, as the texture was pretty tough due to it being cooked incorrectly, and it tasted awful..steak sauce helped mask it some.... The mashed potatoes had ZERO flavor, and were luke-warm at best. No salt or pepper near by. I was disappointed and annoyed..and left hungry... It simply tasted like food costs were an issue, and care or attention was not put into making the food. I saw someone eating mozzarella sticks when I came in, they looked better than the steak dinner I had. Strawberry lemonade was really good, and the service was good, but for 50 dollars, I probably...

I guess I should know what to expect from an Applebees so sure this ones on me. Came in stood around, not greeted. Decided to go sit at the bar table, there was one other table, and they were leaving. As we were sitting the host came up, asked if we needed a table then said to sit anywhere. (I guess better kate then never) Then she went back to sit with the rest of the Bees crew in the corner. Waited for ever to get greeted at table, finally hostess came back with menues, we waited a bit, then finally server came over.( we were thing about just leaving, since we did not get service yet) Salad came out very fast. Food in an average amount of time. Steak was under cooked (I asked for med rare), I get it that happens but the server never came back to check how our steaks were cooked. They threw it back on and it was great. My boyfriends was under cooked also (he asked for med) but he just ate around the middle what he could. I ran out of water when eating, then my beer, would have oredered more beers and def water if server ever came back after bringing me my steak back. Seemed like the entire staff was sitting at a table in the corner, instead of waiting on one of the only tables in the restaurant. Mashed potatoes and mac were as expected mediocre. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! The food was ok not very hot but warm like it was sitting under a lamp. Took us 40 mins to get our food after we ordered and the place was dead. There was no one at all at the bar maybe 10 tables full in the whole place so it should not have taken so long. Then my husband had ordered the bourbon steak and on the menu it has the option to add 6/12 additional shrimp on a skewer, which he did. When our food was finally brought to us it was again WARM NOT HOT & the brought him a dipping sauce cup on garlic and told us the shrimp were in there. Not possible. So we told the waitres our issue she swore up and down all 12 were in there and walked away. So I asked the manager about this he then assured us he would take care of it and bring my husband the 12 shrimp. So 20 mins later they come to the table mind you his meal is now gone.. we received the bill they charged us for the cup of garlic whatever which was $3.69 and then again for the additional shrimp which was their mistake in the first place and didn’t come anything.. now I don’t mind paying at all of the meal is good but because the wait we had to wait when the place was completely dead just to receive our food and then it not being hot or correct.. it’s honestly bull. The worst Applebee’s I’ve ever been to! NEVER AGAIN WILL...
