This has been my fave place ever since coming back from the east coast. Best chill spot, best music, best atmosphere, best coffee. Been a long time coming for my review here since I’ve been using this as my go-to cafe for WEEKS. No other cafe in kc even compares. Atmosphere makes you feel like you’re at a cozy cabin in the woods. People are always friendly and talkative. Plus there are craft cocktails available and food.

Bonus: ceramic mugs for your hot coffee(I prefer the taste instead of to-go cups) and a free refill if you are hanging out.

Don’t go to the cafes on the plaza, they aren’t as local or homey. Come to front range, where you really get a nice vibe you can’t get anyplace else in the plaza or kc area.

If you like ā€œout of the blueā€ or ā€œhitidesā€ coffee come here. It’s local and even better at ā€œFront Range.ā€

Also, did I mention the music they play is much better than other cafes???? Music plays a huge role in the vibe and I don’t think other cafes care as much as front range does. Normally you can hear everything from alt to pop and there’s always a good variety, I end up not using headphones bc I just prefer what they’re playing.

Oh and yes that’s Seinfeld and the code for BTC in the pic too. So you KNOW the kewl kids hang out at...

Brookside location is a comfortable space with generally very friendly staff. My latte came with about 3 inches of foam; so I politely pointed it out and suggested that they thought it was a cappuccino or another drink. The blonde girl who I spoke to immediately said,, ā€œoh, I’m so sorry,, I’ll make it againā€. Unfortunately, a shorter person with short hair (Case?) walked by as I was heading to my seat and blatantly asked what I had complained about, and proceeded to say that that is what a latte should have - 3 or 4 inches of foam. Wrong, and rude. Scary thing is, the rude person scurried around like she was a manager or someone of importance. I wish we hadn’t tipped 30% for service like that. One bad apple can ruin an otherwise good experience, and we won’t be back. Oh, and the $6 breakfast biscuit sandwich is mediocre at best with a sourdough flavored biscuit that was very flat...

This whole concept of alcoholic drinks and coffee under the same roof is hella dangerous.... especially any day on/after Thursday šŸ˜€

We went in for our usual. A Cortado and a couple lattes. The Cortado was richhhh. As tempting as the Caramel Apple Chai Latte sounded, we ended up with the Ranger (Maple latte) and Bearsnack (Raspberry Mocha). All the drinks were delicious.

We were sitting outside and the baris-tender (Barista + Bartender...need to copyright that šŸ˜‚) brought the drinks out to us. A pleasant surprise. I was about to go back in to grab our drinks. I forget his name (Steve, maybe?) was great at recommending drinks as well.

It wasn't too busy when we went and we were able to sit outside and move inside when it got too hot. Parking is a little difficult to find.....and don't get any ideas from my parking job 🫣

Overall, a solid place to spend some time and enjoy...

I came here one morning when I was off work and brought my dog with me. The parking was very limited, but there is another shopping area where you can use their lot to park your car for a bit, or you can get lucky and park in front of the shop. The interior is very welcoming and rustic, and I love how it feels inside if you get a chance to grab a coffee and stay and enjoy the ambiance. It feels like you are in a national park cabin—something like that. The sitting inside is very limited, but it is a lovely shop to check out if you are in the area. I highly recommend checking this spot out! While I was here, I ordered my iced caramel latte to go. This place also serves drinks such as cocktails, wine, and beers.
