Nick's Hot Dogs — Restaurant in Fall River

Usually go to JJ's, the Coney Island Hot Dog place, across the street, because it had a slightly higher google rating, but today we spontaneously decided to go to Nick's instead. That was the best decision. As a chef myself, I often have standards too high for the food I eat at restaurants. Nick's is a cozy, hole in the wall, a lot smaller than JJ's, but the employees were nice and down-to-earth, and these were the best coney island hot dogs for miles, no kidding. Still, the best part was surprisingly not the delcious coney island hot dogs that satisfied our craving perfectly, but the chili-cheese fries we spontaneously added to our order. To make them, they fresh cut a whole potato, and the difference was clear in the taste. They were so fresh and delicious, with a crispy golden outside, and a warm, mashed potato inside, covered in deliciously seasoned beef and warm nacho cheese. My husband loved his sloppy joe, which tasted like it had that delicious, fresh authentic Portuguese flare, with fresh cut peppers and top-notch seasoning. I placed my order on the 8th and the shipping label wasn’t created til the 20th…that’s a 12 day handling time?!? I received a return call on 6/14 and was told very apologetically that they would be shipping it out ASAP but that didn’t even happen for another 6 days after that call!

I was understanding about people being on vacation but to be hung up on today & then to call back & have the employee tell me that the owner told her “to hang up” on me is completely ridiculous!!! I come from 20+ years of restaurant experience and have NEVER been treated with such unwarranted disrespect.

Just so you know & not that anyone cares but I was told about your amazing sauce by a dear friend who knew the original owners daughter. She told us the story of the family & the sauce & how she cherished those memories from her childhood through her young adulthood so I thought it would be a nice surprise to order your sauce for her since she’s now a snow bird living her best life on the sandy beaches of Florida but I assure you now that whenever my order arrives I will be returning it. Clearly the values that made the company what it was are now just memories...

Went to Nick's yesterday on a rare trip back to Fall River since I moved away a couple years ago. Since we were in a hurry, when we were about 20 minutes out, I had my teenage son call and order our food, which was 12 dogs and an order of chicken tenders. He ordered on speaker phone from the backseat and we all heard both sides of the conversation. The woman on the phone took the order and told him 10 minutes. When we arrived roughly 20 minutes later we were told they didn't have our order and that we must've ordered from the other Nick's. Yet, even the other Nick's didn't have our order and we were all sure that the woman working was definitely the woman who took the order on the phone. While we waited over 10 minutes for our order to be made, my son redialed the number in his cell phone and the phone in the restaurant rang, proving that he did, in fact, call THAT Nick's and she obviously just forgot to make our order. Everyone makes mistakes, but, just own it, don't blame it on a kid and make him feel stupid. The food, was meh, not nearly as good as it used to be. Very...
