Port of Subs — Restaurant in Fallon

So definitely enjoyed the food fresh meats veggies n cheese however the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is do to certain things I noticed immediately. Like the meat and cheese being cut on the same blade. Also my bread went directly on the counter good thing I was not allergic to anything or hopefully don't get sick do to cross contamination. The cashier used same gloves to handle food and register which again not good. Yes I ate the food I get it it's a small town and people are definitely friendly . I wish I hadn't seen it be made is all. I ordered 12 inch sandwich n my hubby too. But surprisingly his sandwich was twice the size of mine whaaat .I feel a little sad cause I was like did I get jipped or did they mess his up n give him a bigger bread lol. I used to love Port of subs. I still do at one location. You would think they would all be the same in how they prepared their food. Evidently not. My favorite go to sandwich is the hot pastrami. The port of subs I always went to made an awesome pastrami sandwich. Old school deli style with stacks of meat, it was a meal in it self. Soooo good. They opened this one not too long ago in Fallon. I went looking forward to getting my hot pastrami sandwich to only being disappointed to a sandwich that looked like something that I could get prepackaged at the local Maverick. 3 thin slices of meat. If you've ever wondered what imitation meat was like I think this is it... Wasn't much to choose from when traveling with an animal. We got a meatball sandwich and the number 4 which is sliced ham and salami. The dog wouldn't even eat any of the meat. It was a dry tasteless bready sandwich. When I realized the dog had no interest in eating the meat. I put it back in the bag it came from. We are cattle ranchers we know what real meat is like. Chickens and pigs would not even eat the sandwich and they will eat nearly anything. Normally the dog will eat almost anything, the dog was happy to get back to the ranch and get some dog food.. we felt pretty lousy for several hours after eating some of their junk.
