Well I must say that the experience was very disappointing for my family and I. We were there for a total of 8 days, new in town, trying to save money to rent a home for my family and I. We decided to stay at the Budget inn hotel next to Walmart for the convenience of shopping and close to a new job I just started.||When I checked my family in at the hotel the owner ask how many of us I told her my wife and our two babies. ||Well things were tight for us so I picked a one bed unit, the charge was $59 per night. After the second day she the owner approached us and said that she did not know we hade two children with us so she charged another $10 per day making it $69.70 per night. When she approached me about the extra $10 she was very rude and very mean demanding payment. I explained to her that we had a tight budget and she straight-up said she did not care it was not her problem and that if she did that for us she would have to do it for everybody else. The job that I had paid me everyday l explained I would pay her as soon as I got off work and if my wife and kids could stay in the hotel room reassuring her like always that I would be right back to pay. Of course I know she has a business so I understood when she said no. So she made my lady and our 2 and 8 yr old babies leave the room. So my lady left at 11am with the kidsin and sat in front of Walmart till I got off work so that I could pay for another night. At the time we didn't know that the owner was actually allowing other clients to pay later on the evening when they got back from work. Discontinued the whole time we were there but to avoid from us not being allowed to stay where we were close to a shopping center and to my job we just kept quiet and did the best we could.||This treatment continued and we took it with no choice giving full respect to the hotel owner. In the meantime mom and babies waited at the Walmart parking lot. After I got off work every day like before I paid and we got the same room. We had no choice, so we did this every day. I tryed several times to ask if she would please let mom and babies stay in room till I got off work but like before she stated it was not here problem walking away leaving me standing there. ||Did Simon say when you only business you can not discriminate anybody regardless of race Creed religion or for whatever reason. Your customers and clients should always be treated with all due respect and fairness. You must never favor others above others for whatever reason the treatment was inappropriate and very unprofessional and believe me it was noticed by many that were there due to the fact that a large company sent many and many other we're surprised that they received such a good treatment and here with a family of four that were treated unfair nevertheless nothing was said and we handled it I hope at you think about how you treated my family and treat others better.||In the nine days that we were there we paid a total of $627.30. ||Now for the first 7-Day it was a total of $487.90 that I paid for my family and I to stay at the hotel. ||Now speaking with a few of the other guest at the hotel they also mentioned how she carries herself that is the owner with a strong bossi demeanor. Nevertheless when we spoke about how much it cost to stay there we found out that some of the guests were paying $315 for a week a room with two beds for a week a total of 7 days and two other guest that came in later that night rented a two bed unit paying $315 for 7 days as well. Not only did this owner change these clients less she even allowed them to pay later on that evening after they got off work making my family sit out in the cold? ||I was disappointing that not an employee but the owner herself treated my family so bad, WHY? I don't understand why you treated my family the way you did and why you were so cold to my wife and our babies. Never again will we ever stay at your hotel and we will tell our friends and family all about it. ||Please understand that if you're not happy with what you're doing you shouldn't do it all the money in the world is not going to bring happiness. Treating your customers and your clients with fairness and respect is really important if you want to succeed and have a happy and grateful Life along with a successful one. Read moreWell, with the name Budget, you don't expect frills, but there were some things even I couldn't hack. It's near cow pastures, so you have a pretty noticeable manure smell, especially in the morning - I honestly didn't mind that too much, I mean you're in Fallon, which is farm country. It was the flies that drove me crazy. I guess along with cows you get flies - not just a couple pesky ones, but swarms of them outside your motel room door, roosting in a black cloud on the lights. It's really awful, but I'd have to say I'm not sure it's any fault of the owners, it's just the location, so I didn't complain. You had to get your room key in the door and get ready to rush in so flies wouldn't follow. Even then a couple would always get in.
While the rooms were clean, and the housekeeper put out clean, although paper thin, towels, etc., I would say the rooms were poorly maintained - the blackout drapes were ancient and there was a part of the corner of the wall that was crumbling. Some deeper cleaning like clearing cobwebs above the drapes would also be in order.
On the plus side, the staff in the office seemed very nice and helpful, although a little difficult to understand over the phone. Would I stay here again? Probably not, but the price was good. Still, motels in Fallon fall into two price ranges: the $40/night and the $80/night, and there were a number of others at the lower price...
Read moreWe were looking for a cheap sleep in Fernley but all the hotels were booked so we called here. Yes, they had a room available but no shower. (It happen to be the jacuzzi room with a heart shaped tub 3 feet away from the bed.(Which actually was awesome!) Now I need to add this hotel isn't for everyone. It was super late and we were exhausted from being in a van for 17 hours. The hotel and room are older so yes, you open the door and it has "the smell". I can't explain it but you probably know? The room was tidy but not spic and span clean like most others. Flys were pretty thick, thank goodness I had the swatter out in the van and Bounce dryer sheets to cram in the AC unit (which btw did surprisingly work well.) Pulled back the comforter and yes everything was clean however, there were two spots as if a sharpie had stained the sheets. At that point though we were done and needed sleep. The family that I believe runs it have their hands full! I want to say it was the daughter early 20's who spoke the best English. She is very sweet and eager to accommodate however she can. So would I stay there again? Probably not however, it was better than a park bench, a seat in the van reclined back or an over night stay in jail. Oh.... no coffee or muffin either due to covid, but McDucks is less than a block away which has AMAZING COFFEE! SERIOUSLY!!!! SO i give it a 2.5...
