"Quality" is not exactly the word that comes to mind when I think about this hotel. There are many other words that I find more accurate, but "quality" is not quite right. I've been staying in this hotel for two weeks for work, and honestly, I wish my employer would have chosen a different hotel (not that there are many options in this area). Let me make a couple things very clear: the staff was very nice and helpful at every point during my stay. There were a few minor issues along the way, but they certainly did their best to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Additionally, the rooms were clean, and the fridge and air conditioner in my room worked well. I also really liked the bedside lamp that had two outlets and a USB port. Made charging my devices far easier.
However, from here, my review takes a negative turn. While it seems that housekeeping does their best to keep everything clean, there are various smells that pervade the hallways and the rooms. I would attribute that to the carpets within the rooms, which I imagine have been installed on the floors longer than I have been on this planet. While it seems that ownership has made effort to update the hotel's various aesthetics and features (new vanities within the rooms, some new furniture, a teeny-tiny fitness room), there are a lot of areas where the hotel seems to not have caught up to this century. There is only one tiny washer and one dryer in this entire hotel. It costs $2 (in quarters, obviously) to wash, and $2 for one dry cycle. The first time I used the washer/dryer, things washed well enough, but I had to spend $4 just for drying, as my clothes were still very wet after one drying cycle. As I did a load of laundry while packing to leave, I found the washer did not clean my clothes all the way, and of course, the dryer didn't dry my clothes. I ran out of quarters and the hotel was unable to provide me with any more change, so I was forced to put halfway clean, wet clothes into my bag until I can get home. Not only that, but there was some minor damage done to a couple articles of clothing during drying.
Beyond that, the microwave in my room was not great (very old and low power), so food often took twice as long to cook. The TV in my room is very small and somewhat difficult to see from the bed, as it is mounted high up on the other side of the room. The shower head was poor on pressure, but the water did get to whatever temperature you could want. The complementary breakfast wasn't bad, but very limited compared to some of the other hotels in the area.
Overall, this hotel is not a bad option if you're staying for a day or two. But if you're in Fallon for an extended stay, you will probably be disappointed and ready to leave by the end of it, like I very much was. Once again, none of these problems reflect on the staff. Every single complaint I have made about this hotel is due to ownership not putting forward the effort and the cash to improve or update the rooms or common areas. It seems they did and spent as little as they could to make the hotel appear better to meet "Quality's standards," without actually improving the quality of the hotel in any meaningful way. Sure, they put in an itty bitty fitness room. But I think the guests would prefer better laundry facilities, non-smelly floors, and newer TVs...
Read moreWe are Choice Hotel members and receive a 20% discount when we book directly. We had a VERY poor experience with the last Quality Inn that we stayed in in a different state, but decided to give this one a try anyway, because we needed something on a budget for a week stay to visit my grandmother on hospice. Upon check-in, we were told that although we had booked 3 suites for the week, that only two were available but they would still be charging us the same amount. We were not okay with that and had to talk them into giving us a refund of the suite amount, which we still have not received. There are signs everywhere stating that everyone above the age of 2 is required to wear a mask, but not a single one of the staff members have worn a mask the entire time that we have been here. The front desk attendant informed us that the housekeeping staff was not allowed to clean our rooms during our stay due to Covid-19 which we understood, but they won't even remove trash when we place it outside the door. We have had to take our trash down to them on 3 occasions now. When we arrived, both of the trashcan outside were not only overflowing with garbage, but also surrounded by trash, and were not emptied until day 4 of our stay. When we got to our room, there were only 2 towels and they would only give us 1 more stating they didn't have enough for everybody who was staying in the hotel, but they knew how many people were in our room. One of the rooms we booked was for my mom. When she arrived to her room, I the TV did not work at all, and the staff wouldn't look at it, so they switched her room. The roomed they moved her to smelled horrible but they had nowhere else to move her to. Overall this stay has just cemented the fact that I will be giving my business to ANY other hotel in the future, and never again will I stay at a hotel in the Choice franchise....
Read moreStayed here for under a week as I was in town for work. What a nightmare! Initially the staff were friendly and fairly nice. A couple days in after getting off work my roommate and I noticed our belongings not exactly in the same place we left them. I figured it was just the cleaner moving thigs to clean up a bit.. Only to eventually find that I was missing some cannabis(medical cardholder) that I had left in a box, in my bag. Inside that box i also had a blunt tipped syringe for refilling vape cartridges to avoid havig to buy any at the nearby over priced medical shop. The next day we come in and get threatened and yelled at for apparently doing heroin and leaving blood in the bathroom.... mind you nothing was left out, I have no idea what heroin looks like but i do know it is not injected with a blunt tipped massive needle... without allowing any room for questions or explaination we are told if we dont leave immidietly he was callig the cops.
1- i get not wantig to have drugs in your hotel 2- we didnt have any drugs to begin with, we were both medical marijuanna patients with current paperwork that is honored in nevada 3- the treatment and threats in front of coworkers was humiliating 4- why would you go through workers bags.
I wish we would have done something more about it but like i said we were humiliated in front of coworkers and didnt want to cause more of a scene as that is not who we are. Avoid this hotel unless you want things to come up missing...
